🌾🌾My Sourdough Journey 🌾🌾
My love for sourdough baking began during my second trimester of my second pregnancy in 2024. One day, a friend mentioned she wanted to start making her own sourdough starter and bake bread at home. At first, I wasn’t particularly interested, but as I watched her starter grow and saw more of these beautiful loaves on social media, curiosity started to grow within me.
I decided to give it a try. It took me about two months to nurture my starter until it was lively and bubbling. Once I had a healthy starter, I began baking. My first loaf was love at first bite — the taste was unforgettable. From that moment, I was hooked. I baked weekly, sometimes daily, experimenting with different flours, temperatures, ratios, and baking times to achieve the perfect crumb and those sought-after bunny ears.
Baking became more than just a hobby; it became my therapy. As a stay-at-home mum with two kids, life can be hectic and challenging. Baking gave me a sense of purpose, motivation, and a peaceful retreat during busy days.
Originally from Moldova, I moved to England almost 10 years ago. I married a wonderful English man, and together we have two beautiful children. We love living in Devon — the stunning countryside and community here inspire me every day.
I loved sharing my bread with friends and neighbors, and one day, after baking three loaves, I decided to post them on my local page. To my surprise, they sold out within the same day. That moment was a turning point — I realized I wanted to share my passion and bring good bread to more people.
And here I am, excited to continue this journey, inspiring others to bake and enjoy the magic of sourdough.
