Well, with added thanks to Rachel from accounts, another one bites the dust. 2TA will be going full circle and going back to John Sims t/a 2TA rather than being 2TA limited.
I'm not sure how Rachel worked out her policy but the increase in Employers NI from around £400 to £1200+ per year was the final straw to cause us to decided enough was enough as a Limited Company. She wont be getting 20% VAT from everything we do either so that worked well for her as well.

Squid Game - The Challenge

Towards the end of 2022 we were commissioned by Paul Argles Metal Design to produce all of the manufacturing drawings for the gantries and bed frames of the iconic Squid Games dormitory set.

45 different components had to be designed to fit together safely and securely, while enabling fast reconfiguration as the set evolved during the departure of competitors. The original design drawings were refined to allow components to be used in multiple locations reducing cost, storage and logistical burdens.

Even after refinement there were ultimately 1375 separate components. We produced 50+ detailed manufacturing drawings, each with associated annotated cutting lists. Some drawings had 6 or more iterations to ensure the designers, builders, directors, riggers, camera operators and health and safety advisors were happy with the end product.

Modelling every component in 3D using AutoDesk Inventor we could produce detailed and accurate manufacturing drawings, design and check the numerous junction details and produce 3D renders to fully explain design solutions to all stake holders.

An interesting little project.
We were employed by Argles Metal Design to survey the porch and provide the steel fabrication drawings and cutting details. Subsequently the porch was clad in Corten Steel (the rusty looking stuff) and aluminium panels for which we also prepared the details.
It is always a pleasure working with Paul Argles as his attention to detail is second to none.

I am pleased to announce our refreshed web site is now live.
I was looking towards an AutoCAD looking theme as I thought that would be appropriate considering the work we do.
It is a bit frustrating when AutoDesk than bring out AutoCAD 2020 which looks subtly different....but perhaps a job for another day.

We are pleased to note that we have just taken receipt of a Leica Disto S910. This allows full 3D surveys into CAD, either directly into AutoCAD as you carry out the survey, or subsequently by DXF file transfer. It can also photograph the survey points to aid subsequent reference.

As with all technology it has its idiosyncrasies but, through our initial trial surveys, we have generated a robust and efficient work flow which I am confident will work well in the field.

It was something of a joy to brush off the old physical and ballistic attack resistance design pencil recently for a job for FMR Services.

Autodesk Inventor 2016
3D Studio Max 2016

Being an Autodesk subscription customer we are one of the first Companies to have this version of the software up and running.

As a freelance service this software is available to all of our customers.
