Hi All!

I just wanted to post a wee note to say that I hardly check this page any longer as I mainly use my personal FB page for contact regarding classes. If you would like to contact me on FB please search for Tiffany Spence.

Thanks! x

Looking for something devilishly delicious to do during the cool autumn nights? Then why not join me at Queen Anne High School Community Use in Dunfermline on Wednesday and Thursday evenings for two new cookery classes!

On Wednesday evenings starting on the 15th of September, ‘Sweet as Pie’ runs from 7-9:00pm. What do flaky pastry, a round baking dish, and gorgeous fillings have in common? Delicious, sweet pies, of course! Complete beginners to experienced bakers should come along and join us as we take advantage of the season to bake a range of tantalising pies.

On Thursday evenings starting on the 16th of September, ‘Vegan Cookery’ runs from 7-9:00pm. Are you a vegan or new to veganism? Do you have a family member or friend who has become vegan but you're unsure of what you cook for them? Or maybe you’re looking to make meals that are healthier, plant-based, and environmentally friendly? Then ‘Vegan Cookery’ is the perfect course for you!

For further information about either class mentioned above, please contact Queen Anne High School Community Use direct on 01383 602351 or email: [email protected]

Baking & Cookery Students: I have just spoken with Community Use this morning. They have made the decision to cancel all cookery classes starting today until further notice. I'm afraid I have no further information than that for now but will keep everyone up to date when things are back to normal. Stay safe. x

Thursday night's cookery class: This morning I was contacted to say that one of the IKEA chef knives has done a walkabout and apparently it was on my watch, of course. If for some reason you accidentally misplaced it during class or decided that you couldn't do without it's superior strength and accurate cutting ability and took it home with you, could you please let me know asap. xx

I'll be running another baking class in two weeks time. 'Best of British Baking' starts on the 22nd of January and runs Wednesday evenings from 7-9pm for 10 weeks at Queen Anne High School. Here's some info about it:

Do you enjoy watching baking programmes on television? Have you ever wanted to try out some of the recipes and techniques but was maybe a bit hesitant to go it alone? Well, why not sign yourself (and maybe a friend or two) up for 'Best of British Baking'! During the course, students will try out an exciting range of both sweet and savoury baking recipes and techniques, while also increasing their knowledge and confidence in baking. Some examples of recipes that will be covered in this course are; Scones (both fruit & cheese), Soft Baked Pretzels, Red Velvet Brownies and Pork Pies. Each class is conducted in an informal hands-on manner by an experienced tutor. As students will take home their finished tasty treats at the end of class, all students are required to bring along a container to class each week to take their bake home in. Students will be supplied with a shopping list of ingredients to bring for the following week's class each week.

Thursday Christmas Baking Class: Based on tonight's result, you will need to bring in an additional container to take your yule log filling home in. The cake bit of the yule log doesn't have enough time to completely cool during class but you will leave with your cooked cake rolled and filling made but the cake needs to be completely cool before you unroll it, add your filling and re-roll. x

Thursday night's Christmas Baking Class: There's a Christmas Market running at the school from 6-7pm and then a music concert type thing right after. Just to forewarn you for parking. X

Thursday night Christmas baking class: Can you bring in baking paper? Apparently, I forgot to add it to the shopping list. x
