Every product I create has a story in the background that leads to a unique product. My dream now is to be able to share my creations with other people and let them enjoy my Baking Stories.

Chapter 9: Cheesecake Brownie 🍫🤍

When two favourites come together, something pretty special happens. 🤎

Our Cheesecake Brownie combines our signature gooey chocolate brownie with a smooth, creamy cheesecake layer giving you the best of both worlds in every bite.

Fudgy and chocolatey on the bottom, creamy and silky on top, with that perfect contrast of textures that makes it very hard to stop at just one bite. 😍

It’s one of those bakes that looks simple, but once you try it, you understand why it has earned its place on our counter.

Chapter 8: S’mores Brownie 🤎🔥

Every bake has a story… and this one started with a little inspiration from my mother-in-law. ❤️

She used to bake a cake that was one of my husband’s absolute favourites. I loved it too, so I took a little inspiration from her recipe, added my own twist… and eventually our S’mores Brownie was born.

A buttery Lotus Biscoff biscuit base, our signature gooey brownie, a generous layer of homemade toasted marshmallow, and lots of delicious Biscoff spread on top. 🤎

We first started making this one around three years ago, and since then it has become one of our top-selling products every single week.

We’ve thought about replacing it with something new a few times… but you simply won’t let us! 😂🤎 And I think that says everything.

Three years later, it’s still here, still one of your favourites, and now you know the little family story that inspired it.

After an incredibly busy couple of months, it’s time for us to slow down, recharge our batteries and enjoy a little summer break. ☀️🌸

We’re so grateful for all your love and support 🥰it has kept us busier than we could ever have imagined! 💗

Our shop will be closed from 26th August until 3rd September, and we’ll be back refreshed and ready to welcome you on 4th September.

Chapter 7: Matilda Chocolate Cake 🍫🤎

Calling all chocolate lovers… this chapter is definitely for you. 🍫

Our Matilda Chocolate Cake is everything a chocolate cake should be 🥰 indulgent, moist and unapologetically chocolatey.

Layers of soft chocolate sponge, soaked with syrup to make it beautifully moist, then filled and finished with the most delicious velvety chocolate ganache.

It’s rich without being too heavy, wonderfully soft and the kind of slice that makes you close your eyes for a second after that first bite. 🤎

And of course, the name Matilda says it all… if you know, you know. 😉🍫

Sometimes you just need a proper chocolate cake and this is ours.

Chapter 6: Our Award-Winning Carrot Cake 🥕🏆

Every bake has a story… and this one has a little silver sparkle added to its story. 🥈✨

Our Carrot Cake has been a favourite on our counter for a long time. A beautifully moist, warmly spiced carrot sponge with walnuts, layered with smooth and creamy cream cheese frosting. Simple, classic and absolutely delicious. 🥕🤍

This year, we decided to enter a few of our products into the Scottish Bakers Awards, and our Carrot Cake was one of the bakes we chose to put forward.

We were so proud when we found out it had been awarded Silver in the Sweet Treats category! 🥈

Having something we make in our little bakery, and something you’ve enjoyed on our counter for so long, recognised with an award was such a special moment for us.

So now when you order a slice, you’re officially having a piece of our award-winning Carrot Cake. 🥕🏆

And while we’re incredibly proud of that silver award, seeing you come back for another slice will always be the biggest compliment. 💕

Greek Custard cream pastry

Every bake has a story… and this one takes me back to my childhood in Cyprus.

Galaktoboureko is one of those traditional desserts we grew up with. It was always part of family gatherings, Sunday lunches, celebrations and so many special moments around the table.

When I started baking here in Scotland, I knew I wanted to share a little piece of home with you. Bringing Galaktoboureko to Maria’s Baking Stories was my way of sharing a dessert that’s been loved by generations.

I still remember the lockdown days when I first started baking it for my customers. My dad would come by almost every day just to “steal” a piece. ❤️ Those are some of my favourite memories, before he moved back to Cyprus. That’s one of the reasons this dessert will always hold such a special place in my heart.

Made with layers of crisp, buttery filo pastry, filled with silky homemade custard cream, baked until golden, soaked in fragrant syrup and finished with a generous dusting of icing sugar and cinnamon… every bite is a taste of tradition.

For many of our Greek and Cypriot customers, it’s a taste of home. For those trying it for the first time, it’s a chance to discover one of the most loved traditional desserts from Greece and Cyprus.
