It was a joy to make this selection of treats for little Aiyla’s 2nd birthday celebration with her family yesterday. And it made my day this morning to get a message from her lovely mummy to say how much they had enjoyed everything. I absolutely love being able to make a small contribution to people’s celebrations 🥳

Aiyla’s selection of treats included a Victoria sponge cake & matching cupcakes, double chocolate brownies & a mix of chocolate chunk & biscoff cookies.

Mi Little Cake Shed is back this weekend and I’m doing a happy dance 💃

Menu for this weekend is in the photos, along with planned opening times for the next couple of weeks, which as always are weather and/or sell out dependent.

Football themed treats have always been popular requests from the Mi Little Bakes kitchen.

Last year for Archie’s 8th birthday he had a Manchester United themed cake. I was over the moon that he/his mum returned to request treats for his 9th birthday too. Same theme as last year but cupcakes for this year.

Archie loves red velvet and lemon so obviously had to have a mix of both flavours for his cupcake selection 🧁.

What’s the greatest movie of all time??

Top Gun has to surely be in everyone’s top 2 or 3 films, right?!

I was absolutely delighted to get a message requesting this cake for Steve’s 30th birthday and I loved listening to the Top Gun soundtrack whilst I made and decorated the cake.

Three layers of red velvet cake filled and covered with vanilla buttercream, finished with fondant star detailing and card toppers from Tempting Edible Prints & Toppers.

Happy Birthday Steve, hope you had a great time celebrating!

Just a reminder that Mi Little Cake Shed will be closed this weekend as I have lots of custom orders to complete 🎂.

The cake shed will be open again the following weekend from the afternoon of Friday 12th June and will also be open on the weekend of 19th-21st June which is Fathers Day weekend. Watch out for details about my plans for my Fathers Day offerings which I will post in the next day or two!

Loved the design of this 18th birthday cake 🎂

The brief I was given by the recipients auntie was to create a chocolate cake, not too much buttercream and something a bit girly.

I always love finishing a cake with edible petals from Polly's Petals and they were perfect to add something ‘a bit girly’ to this one.

This selection of mini treats was made in the Mi Little Bakes kitchen last week for a family gathering to celebrate a wedding anniversary.

I love doing treat selections like this, they’re perfect for gatherings where guests might graze for hours whilst catching up. And because they were mini treats in this selection, it’s absolutely justifiable to try one of each item!!

A selection of around 100 mini treats, including double chocolate brownies, dark chocolate and ginger cookies, orange chocolate cookies, vanilla shortbread and lemon shortbread.

May 2026…. What.A.Month!!!

May was Mi Little Bakes’ busiest month ever!!

I opened my cake shed, made loads of celebration cakes, made loads of cupcakes, summer arrived (but has already left!)

So happy to be able to contribute to people’s celebrations in a small way with my sweet treats 🍪🎂🧁.

My job is hard work but there’s loads to love about it🫶🏻

Sunday evening…. The end of a busy week & a busy month with plenty of ups and downs but I’m trying to focus on the positives!

Thanks so much to everyone who has brought treats from me this weekend, despite not being able to open the shed. I’m honestly so grateful for every single purchase from my little business 🫶🏻

I’m also grateful for the things that I’ve been able to do over the past few days to cheer myself up, including winning at half term bowling 💪 (I was playing against two 9 year olds but still…!), being a parkrun tourist & sharing a cookie with my best boy to refuel after running! To be fair, he’s a pretty good sharer for a 6 year old although I didn’t get the chocolate orange segment from the top of the cookie but I’ll let him off because he’s so handsome.

I’ve also completed some bespoke orders that I loved and can’t wait to share with you!

Wishing all of those who are dealing with back to school tomorrow, a calm & serene Monday morning 🩷 xx
