Do you know what any of these art terms mean? 🎨👀 We asked some of the pupils at Doddiscombsleigh Primary School…. Their answers may not have been correct, but they were definitely better 😂

How many can you answer correctly?

MEET THE ARTIST | JENNY BONE

Jenny creates landscapes in wool using the technique of needle felting, a process she describes as “painting” with felt.
Her work begins with layers of dyed and carded wool, carefully blended to build colour and form. Fine barbed needles are then used to embed the fibres onto a felt base, while free-machine embroidery brings definition to the finest branches and details.

Trees have always been an ever-present theme in Jenny’s work. In her exhibition, Arboretum, they take centre stage, celebrating their complexity, strength and mystery through changing seasons and different times of day.

For Jenny, the repetitive process of needle felting is deeply meditative. It creates the time and space to explore colour, texture and form while appreciating the extraordinary beauty and grandeur of the landscapes and trees she holds dear.

Discover Jenny’s work at the Doddiscombsleigh Art Show, 23–25 October. 🌳
