Simply contact me via Facebook at cupcakesanddoilies or call or text me on 07910 629 071 with any enquiries, and send me any photo's from internet sources or your mood boards for me to create your perfect cake. My kitchen is not a controlled environment and for any food intolerances is cleaned down for the preparation of such cakes to avoid cross contamination. For me to sell any bento boxes or cakes which include bottles of alcohol I am required to purchase a temporary license at a cost advised by the local council. This cost will be passed on on top of any products purchased. However you can provide me with your own bottles etc for addition to the cake for photo opportunities, and once you take away your order you are able to add your own bottles etc for which I have no responsibility. Please try and give me as much notice as possible for any orders which will enable sufficient time for online orders to arrive, special ingredients to be sourced and to schedule my workload accordingly. A deposit is required to hold a cake order. It is a retainer to cover admin work, items/supplies purchased, any special ingredients if applicable and lost business from turning away other orders. A deposit is non-refundable or transferable unless it is many weeks in advance, I have not turned anyone away for that date and items have not been purchased. Please bear with me on responding to messages, I can't always be online as I am busy in the kitchen baking all your gorgeous cakes and bakes, but will always get back to you even if it is at strange o'clock. However, please be mindful that I do need sleep and downtime as much as anyone else, so messaging me after 10.30pm at night and expecting me to quote and respond to your enquiry before 7am the next morning is not going to happen.

This lovely lady celebrated her special birthday at the weekend. A keen gardener with a love for yellow flowers. Some of the features in the garden replicated on the cake incl the layout, trellis, birdbath, and the feet stepping stones in the gravel.
The cake was a light lemon sponge filled with lemon curd and lemon buttercream, covered in ganache and everything on this cake was totally edible.

A jam and buttercream filled vanilla sponge covered in ganache with edible loop and decals, chocolate tyres and chequered base, with the addition of Lucas own cars to finish the detail. Flags and ring of fire non edible on this cake. Hope you had a lovely birthday Luca 🎂 🥳 🎉 🏁

The weekend saw a very special milestone birthday for Barry.
A delicious chocolate sponge filled with chocolate buttercream and covered in ganache. With bike plate number replicated to show 50 and buttercream and macaron colours to match those of Barry's bike leathers.

The heatwave calls for cakes to be treated a little differently.
I have 3 fridges to cope with storage of cakes whether they be covered as semi naked, buttercream, ganache or fondant.
All my fondant covered cakes have a base layer of ganache for stability and a smoother fondant coverage. I only ever use Saracino sugarpaste as it likes the chilled environment and is not subject to heat shock when its removed to room temperature. It also likes temperatures up to 38 degrees and won't sweat or wilt like other fondant coverings.
If youve had a cake from me you will know it will have been lovingly prepared and looked after, once it leaves me you need to treat it the same.
Fresh cream, buttercream, semi naked cakes should stay in the fridge until just before theyre needed. Fondant covered can be moved from storage in the fridge a few hours before cutting.
I am reading articles on pages where folk have had disasters with their cakes (not from me I hasten to add) being left out for hours, melting, leaning, sweating, one this morning where a. buttercream covered wedding cake leaned then collapsed after the venue were happy for it to be left out for 6 hours in the heat. If you leave a pack of butter in a dish on a worktop for 6 hours in a hot room we all know what happens to it, and a buttercream covered cake acts no differently.
When you transport your cake, make sure theres sufficient room in your car boot, this is the most stable place for it, not on the car seat, footwell or someone's knee if its travelling long distance.
So when you take your cakes away from me make sure you treat them just as well as when they left my loving care, and there will be no mishaps and disappointment.
