Neurodivergent Week 💜

At Aberdour and Dalgety Bay Girlguiding, we are proud to be inclusive and welcoming to everyone.

Many of our volunteers have lived experience of neurodivergence or support someone who does. While we may not be experts, we offer understanding, compassion, and a genuine willingness to support you and your child.

From the Women Who Guide and Care

Today we celebrate Mother’s Day,
But our thanks reach far and wide
From every leader in our district
Who stands with care and pride.

For when the young ones gather close
In laughter, games, and song,
We open hearts and guiding hands
To help them all belong.

We tie the laces, dry the tears,
And cheer them when they try,
We watch them grow through unit nights
And camps beneath the sky.

Around the fire, beneath the stars,
Or sharing stories late,
We build the kind of memories
That time will celebrate.

We care for every child who comes
As if they were our own,
With patient words and gentle strength
In ways that brightly shone.

And not all here are mothers,
Yet still our hearts can show
The warmth, the care, the guiding light
That helps your young ones grow.

For mothering is more than name,
It’s kindness freely given,
It’s lifting others, standing strong,
And helping dreams be driven.

Together we support each other,
Through busy nights and days,
A circle strong, a guiding force
In countless caring ways.

So on this day we thank you all
For every laugh and mile,
For every camp, each helping hand,
Each encouraging smile.

For in our district’s guiding light
One truth will always stay—
The love we give our young people
Shapes tomorrow’s way.

Happy Mother’s Day to every leader & parents/carers of our young members who nurtures, supports, and inspires. 🌷

Some Rainbows from Aberdour and Dalgety Bay got together yesterday to “Bag a Badge”
What a great way to spent International Woman’s Day!
They worked on their Guiding Sparkle, drew, crafted and talked about what makes them them! Learnt all about the Guiding journey.
They now can’t wait to become Brownies and Guides and go on wonderful empowering journeys making new friends along the way 🌈

Last week members of 3rd Dalgety Bay Guides had their first international trip to Disneyland Paris! It was wet at times by my goodness they made the most of every moment. They had a blast and wanted to stay longer. What a wonderful experience.

1st Aberdour Brownies had a Scottish night tonight. They danced, played games and they practiced the Brownie Promise in Scots! A'body had a braw time !

Gift Aid

Did you know that if you pay tax then your young member's unit can claim gift aid on the annual subscriptions you pay?

Did you know they can claim 25p for every £1 you pay?

Did you know that this extra money costs you nothing at all?

Did you know that this money means a lot to our units?

Did you know that all you need to do is complete one form and return it to your unit leader?

Did you know it is that easy to support your young member's unit?

If you haven't completed a form then please speak to your Rainbow's/Brownie's/Guide's/Ranger's leader and they will provide you with one either by email or a paper copy.

Lyla and Megan from Dalgety Bay Primary School organised a collection for Dunfermline Foodbank and raised a fantastic 67.3kg of donations. 👏
They even came along to the warehouse to hand it over and hear a bit more about the work we do. Thank you both for such a thoughtful and generous effort. 💚 Well done girls!!

The Rainbows, Brownies and Guides in Aberdour decorated a tree as part of St Fillan's Church Christmas Tree Festival.

The church will be open next week if you would like to attend.
