What. A. Night. On Friday evening we attended the 2026 Northern Ireland Food and Drink Awards where we were finalists in two categories😆

We are over the moon to have been awarded the Best New Service Sector Product Award for our GF Crunchy Crumb Potato Croquettes AND the Sustainable Energy Leadership Award🏆🏆

One of the last – and one of the best!

This week, we unveiled a brand new Wilson's Country trailer, part of our latest investment in 30 new Schmitz refrigerated trailers.

It’s fully wrapped in Wilson’s bold branding, complete with “Working in Partnership with McCulla” – a real head-turner on the road!

This is another sign of how closely our two companies align – from high-quality service to a shared commitment to green transport, including our biomethane-powered fleet.

Big thanks to Lewis Cunningham for bringing the props (🥔) and the energy to the shoot. Here's to many more miles together!

What Is a Carbon Footprint? A carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gases released by a person, product, or business, contributing to climate change. 🏭

♻️Our Emissions:
⚙️Operations: Running equipment, heating buildings, using electricity.
🥔Processing & Transporting: Manufacturing and logistics activities.
🚛Supply Chain: How products are grown, transported, and packaged.

Understanding Emissions:
Scope 1: Direct emissions from vehicles or on-site fuel.
Scope 2: Indirect emissions from purchased electricity or heating.
Scope 3: Indirect emissions from supplier activity, transport, and waste.

♻️Achievements:
✅68% Reduction in Scope 1 & 2 Emissions: Between 2019 and 2024.
✅100% Renewable Electricity: Transitioned in 2021, cutting 589 tonnes of CO₂e.
✅Anaerobic Digestion (AD) Plant: Produces 60% of our site’s electricity from potato peelings and farm waste.
✅Reducing Scope 3 Emissions:
✅Biomethane Logistics: Partnering with McCulla Ireland.
✅Zero Waste to Landfill: Improved recycling and recovery processes.
✅LEAF Marque Certification: Supporting on-farm sustainability.
✅Climate Leadership: We align with the global movement toward net zero, committed to continuous improvement and measurable impact. 🌱

Our journey with a £2 million investment in a cutting-edge anaerobic digestion (AD) plant at our County Armagh headquarters. 🌾

Why Renewable Energy? Our new AD plant converts organic waste from potato processing into renewable energy and nutrient-rich fertiliser, reducing carbon emissions by over 160 tonnes of CO₂e annually. 💚
