TAVS Choir

TAVS Choir TAVS Choir has been going since September 2013. The TAVS Choir has a heart to bring people from different backgrounds together through song.

The TAVS Choir was set up in September 2013 with the intention of bringing together members of our TAVS community through singing and having fun. It has since grown in strength and confidence, particularly through the brilliant direction of Sarah Davies. TAVS is a community centre on Tavistock Street, Roath (Cardiff), which is owned by Glenwood Faith Community and runs outreach and support service

s for the homeless and socially excluded communities in our city in partnership with other churches and organizations in Cardiff. We run regular meals for around 40-60 people every Sunday and Monday evenings, chiropody service, a Bakery on Saturday mornings once a month, and other activity sessions at various points in the week. We aim to provide a place where everyone is welcome, no matter what their backgrounds, and for our approach to be empowering, inclusive, holistic, respectful, having give value, and developing purpose. Our choir rehearses every week on a Monday evening at 6. 30 pm. It is free and is open to everyone and anyone so we would love to have you join us. Weekly Monday evening practises average from 10 – 15 people and we hope to continue to grow. There is a growing sense of community amongst us, and there is always such joy and fun to be had. Some of our songs at the moment include: Something Inside So Strong, Amazing grace, skyfall, It’s My Life (Bon Jovi), Lets twist again and lean on me. Please get in touch if you'd like further information, or would like to get involved!
