My cousin turned 30 and has always had a keen interest in horses and has had horses most of her life. Her partner and family asked us to make her birthday cake and try to make it horse themed. We decided we would try and immortalise her horse Donnie in a stable out of cake. Its layers of vanilla sponge, vanilla buttercream and strawberry jam hand carved into a stable shape and covered in fondant. All decorations on the cake/board were handmade out of icing

My little sister turned 30 at the end of last year (Christmas Eve to be exact and shes an adult but she’ll always be my baby sister). She asked us to make her birthday cake. We were asked by a previous customer (do you remember the Book Cake?) if we could make the cake for her parents 50th wedding anniversary. Of course, we were more than happy to do so. We have a bottom tier of light fruit cake with marzipan and fondant and a top tier of vanilla cake with vanilla Italian meringue buttercream and strawberry jam covered with fondant, handmade sugar flowers and fondant pearls

When our good friend announced he was getting married, we were delighted to hear the news. Then we were asked to make the wedding cake, which we were honoured to do so. The bottom tier is layers of lemon Madeira sponge, homemade lemon curd and vanilla Italian meringue buttercream. The middle tier is layers of chocolate vanilla marble cake, with chocolate and vanilla buttercream. The top tier is layers of spiced carrot cake, with vanilla buttercream. We then coated the tiers in white chocolate ganache. The top 2 tiers were iced in white vanilla buttercream and the bottom tier iced in sage green vanilla buttercream, to match one of the wedding colours, and adorned with edible silver leaf. Then we arranged real flowers, supplied by the florist, onto the tiers (making them safe to be inserted into a cake on the way). The cake topper was supplied by the happy couple.
We also baked a small, traditional fruit cake mainly for the groom and father of the bride. This is slightly spiced and packed full of fruit. It was then fed brandy and glazed in an apricot jam

I was asked by two colleagues of mine if I would consider making their wedding cake. We, of course, were more than happy to do it. The top tier is layers of zingy lemon sponge, homemade lemon curd and vanilla Italian meringue buttercream. The bottom tier is layers of light vanilla sponge, raspberry jam and vanilla buttercream. All coated in a white chocolate ganache, ivory vanilla buttercream with hand piped white buttercream flowers (for contrast), some brushed with gold leaf

Hello all 😁 we have been back in operation over the last week and what a busy week it’s been.
We were recommended by a friend to make a 30th birthday cake. As her partner was the one to contact us, he was asked for it to be chocolate and to use Reece’s Pieces.
We have layers of chocolate sponge, sandwiched with chocolate Italian meringue buttercream, coated with a milk chocolate ganache and more chocolate buttercream. Finished with a chocolate drip, buttercream piping, tempered milk chocolate decorations, Reece’s Pieces, peanut butter cups and mini peanut butter cups, gold lustre dust and edible gold leaf

A hearty hello to all our friends, customers and followers. Sometimes things need to change in order to progress and with that in mind, it is time for us to bid fairwell to our first proper baking home. That also means that for the time being, we will not be taking on any new commissions. But it’s not all doom and gloom. As soon as we are settled in our new, bigger and better location, we will throw our doors open and get the oven on and the cakes a baking again. And who knows….maybe some expansion is on the horizon. We’ll leave you with that thought for now 😜 So, we would like to say a huge thank you to all of our customers, friends, family, followers and supporters. You have been truly amazing and we will be back very soon. Ta ta for now

This cake was made for a birthday just before Christmas (sorry about using the C word so early in the year….We did say we were behind on our postings 😂) Layers of chocolate orange sponge, orange buttercream, chocolate drip, orange peel curls and tempered chocolate spirals. We do love working with chocolate and creating fabulous decorations with it
