Check this out… we won some awards at Border Union Agricultural Society last weekend 🏆

🥇Our dark seeded rye won gold and was best in show
🥇 Ancient grain sourdough was also a winner
🥈the seeded sourdough got silver
🥈our new country loaf (made with stoneground flours - not pictured here ) also won silver

Thanks so much to everyone who came to our first Wednesday in spite of the rainy weather. It was really nice to see so many familiar faces and meet new ones . 🙏

We are still learning how much or what to bake, if you have suggestions let us know in the comments.

Today’s menu 🥖🍰
Bread: white, seeded, olive, rye - all sourdough
Savoury: quiche, focaccia, spinach and feta brioche rolls
Sweet/pastry: fruit scones, cinnamon, cardamom, sticky pecan and twice baked buns, croissant, strawberry danish, raspberry cheesecake cruffin, vegan choc and miso cookies and a lemon and elderflower mini bundt

We’ve decided to trial opening an extra day starting with June. This means more bread 🥖 and pastries 🥐 for everyone and we are hoping it will help to balance out the demand on Thursdays and Fridays. At the end of the month we’ll decide if this is sustainable for everyone and we’ll announce here if it will be a permanent change. Hope to see you on the 3rd of June!
