T H A N K Y O U (Long Post Alert)

I had a great day in Bude yesterday. I made HEAPS and sold nearly all in the end, with the help of a last minute end of business promo 😉 so thank you all for buying.

Special thanks to the customer coming back to tell me it was ‘the best cake they’ve had and they’ve tried a lot of cake’ - it’s comments like that that make the hours of work behind the scenes worth it 😊

Truly means the world getting lovely comments. Along the way I’ve been lucky enough to hear some lovely things, meet some brilliant and talented fellow traders and see some lovely smiles over my food, a particular favourite was in Totnes; a gentlemen came walking back with gusto 5 minutes after buying a cookie, looking serious, to tell me it was the best cookie he’d had and to keep doing what I’m doing, then walked back off with same gusto. So to you Mr Totnes Customer, I will.
Doors may be closed for now, but I’m excited to keep learning absorbing practising and one day bring this back sooner or later. I feel my stall needs work and will hopefully do this also.

Thank you, once again, for supporting me. Also, keep supporting small. We put hours in behind the scenes (13+hrs sometimes), prepping fresh, baking small batches due to small ovens (I use a 3 rack home oven, the top half isn’t for baking) cleaning, prepping, boxing, decorating, setting up, packing down, more cleaning, record keeping, cleaning again, stressing, stock buying - constantly - as most can’t yet bulk buy.

But when we get to feed and share things we like to make and eat ourselves with lovely customers like you, it makes it all worthwhile 😊
Had some exciting talks with venues about arranging some vegan events for us all to attend when back, alongside my (hopefully) new and improved stall, so watch this space, as they say, and we will see! Also, believe the people that believe in you, then maybe you’ll start believing in yourself, something I’ve learnt/am learning.

Also, if you’ve liked/disliked/have any feedback of my food you’ve tried over the time, I’d love to hear it, whether that be a review or PM 🙏

It’s a busy one here at the Bude Vegan Fair, nice and cool in here though, me more so after a manic start (stuck in traffic sorry!)

12! types of cupcake today! GF peach passionfruit and cream, and special of coffee and pecan praline. Tiffin and sausage rolls sold out, brownies selling fast. Come on down, some interesting talks going on here today. Be here till 3.30ish.

Word is that there’s also Air Conditioning and a smoothie tuk tuk to keep us all cool 😁
Come down, enjoy the event, enjoy some vegan food and cake, then go to the beach and cool off, couldn’t be a better Saturday, see you there!

S A T U R D A Y!

Hey everyone, I’m on Exeter Cathedral Green, for the young traders awards event today, 11-4ish! 😊

FOUR savoury options again today- my favourite one being the roast cherry tomato and basil tarts. Have a double chocolate cake and the usual orange rose pistachio and almond one🍊
Tarts here too - Lemon, raspberry, chocolate and strawberry creme patisserie.

Come down and have a look, lots of amazing food and stalls to see!

📣 I M P O R T A N T A N N O U N C E M E N T 📣

Bude Vegan fair will be my last fair for a long time.
I don’t really know how long…because on the 18th of August I’m flying out to Australia on a working holiday visa.
I’ve been to this magical country twice now, and for about ten years have thought of working (& eating) my way around there. The food inspired me and I hope to pick up some things that I will eventually bring back home.
I could be gone a month two months or six or twelve, I really don’t know yet, I’m not sure it’ll even work out, but if I’ve learnt anything over this last year - getting the courage to start sharing my bakes with you lovely people - it’s that you have to take chances and get out that comfort zone.

I just wanted to let you all know incase you fancy a last cupcake before I go. I WILL however be doing this when I get back, maybe with some ozzy inspo!
So PLEASE don’t unfollow or forget about me! I’ve absolutely LOVED doing this, I just wish I started sooner - as now I almost don’t want to leave!

So, hopefully see you soon, next at Exeter Young Traders awards on Exeter Cathedral Green Saturday 6th August 10.30-3.30
Then 13th August Bude Ivor Potter Hall 10.30-3.30ish
(I will be leaving Bude Fair slightly earlier than the advertised official time to spend my last weekend with my family, will update closer to the event)

W E E K E N D!

I’m on Exeter Cathedral Green, 11-4 today! 😊

Lots of different bits including FOUR savoury options - my favourite being the thyme and red onion sausage rolls.
Also have my tarts - Lemon, chocolate and the strawberry creme patisserie.
Limited amounts of everything as usual of course.
Come down and have a look, around 60 of us here and could we ask for a cooler location!

📍Saturday 6th August, Exeter Young Trader Finals, ( not in the comp just trading alongside) Exeter Cathedral Green, 10-3.30

📍 Saturday August 13th, Bude Vegan Festival, Ivor Potter Hall, 10.30-4.30

🚨 So looking forward to trading on the cathedral green, I mean what a beautiful location!
So excited for my first vegan festival, BUT this will also be my last fair for a long time…. 🚨
