This beauty is a 3-layer, 6-inch vanilla sponge filled with homemade raspberry jam and coated in the smoothest pink vanilla buttercream I’ve ever made 💗🎂

Created to celebrate a special first birthday, this watermelon-inspired cake is bursting with colour and cuteness!
🍉 Pink buttercream for that juicy watermelon flesh
🌿 Green fondant rind
⚪ Crisp white detail
⚫ And teeny black fondant seeds to finish it off!

She’s sweet, summery, and full of fun — just like a first birthday should be! 🌞🎉

Two 8-inch layers of soft vanilla sponge, filled with smooth buttercream and homemade raspberry jam, topped with a creamy, dreamy buttercream finish and a deep green layer for that perfect jungle vibe 🌱

A berry sweet celebration for my baby girl’s BIG day! 🍓🍰💕

This weekend we celebrated Freya’s berry first birthday and I had the joy (and challenge!) of making my first ever tiered cake — and what a beauty she turned out to be!

Three tiers. Three flavours. Endless love:
10” bottom tier – Fluffy vanilla sponge with dreamy vanilla buttercream 🍰
8” middle tier – Rich chocolate fudge with silky chocolate ganache 🍫
6” top tier – Raspberry ripple sponge with tart raspberry jam & vanilla buttercream 🍓

The top and bottom tiers were piped in pretty pink and decorated with fondant strawberries and daisies 🌸✨ while the middle tier transformed into a giant strawberry — seeds, leaves and all! Berry cute, right?

I used AI to help bring my vision to life and honestly… this was as close to perfect as I could’ve imagined. It’s the reason I started The Crumb Boutique — to create beautiful cakes for my girls’ birthdays — and this cake was a total dream come true!

Next time I’ll definitely scale it down… because I might have enough cake to feed the whole street!
