Click and Connect – Digital Support for Over 55s

We are delighted to announce the launch of a new digital support group at our church: Click and Connect!

Thanks to generous grants from The Anchor Society and the Bristol and South Gloucestershire Methodist Circuit, our digital support sessions are back — with the same friendly team and a new name!

The group is open to anyone over 55 and will offer weekly focused and drop-in sessions to help you:

* Learn new digital skills
* Build confidence using technology
* Improve and develop the skills you already have
* Get friendly, practical support with your mobile phone or tablet

Thursdays, 10:30am–12:30pm at Westbury-on-Trym Methodist Church
Starting on Thursday, 10 September

A Wonderful Messy Church – Recycling Together!

What a fantastic morning we had at our Messy Church: Recycling event!

We were delighted to welcome over 30 children, along with their families, for a fun-filled morning of creativity, worship and fellowship.

The children enjoyed a variety of hands-on craft activities, including making their own mini greenhouses from recycled plastic bottles and decorating delicious cupcakes. As always, our crafts helped us think about how we can care for God's wonderful creation.

We also shared a thoughtful time of worship, exploring what the Bible teaches us about caring for God's creatures and the Earth, reminding us that we all have a part to play in looking after the world God has entrusted to us.

After all the fun and creativity, everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch, giving families the opportunity to relax, chat and spend time together.

A huge thank you goes to our amazing Messy Church team for all their hard work in planning, preparing and running such a wonderful event. We are also incredibly grateful to all the families who came along and made the morning so special.

We can't wait to welcome everyone back for our next Messy Church on Thursday 29th October. We look forward to another exciting morning of fun, creativity, worship and friendship!

Special Music Event – Friendly Club

On Thursday, 16th July, the Friendly Club was delighted to welcome The Filtonairs, who entertained everyone with a wonderful selection of well-known songs. The band performed beautifully, and their excellent musicianship and warm vocals created a fantastic atmosphere throughout the event.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed singing along, clapping to the music, and spending time together. Their performance brought smiles to many faces and made the afternoon a memorable occasion.

We would like to thank The Filtonairs for their outstanding entertainment and look forward to welcoming them back to the Friendly Club again in the future.

♻️ Messy Church is back – and we're going green!

Join us for a special Recycling-themed Messy Church at Westbury-on-Trym Methodist Church on Thursday 6th August, 10:30am–12:30pm.

Bring the whole family for a morning of:
- Creative crafts
- Messy play
- Worship and songs
- Lunch together
- Tea, coffee and squash

It's a fun, free event for all ages where we'll explore how we can care for God's creation through play, creativity and worship.

Music for Summer – Tuesday Fellowship

Join us on Tuesday 28 July at 10:30am for a delightful morning of music with Rev Alison John, leader of the Long Ashton Orchestra. Enjoy performances on violin, viola, recorders and piano, together with a selection of familiar songs for everyone to sing along with. The morning will conclude with a sandwich lunch before we take our summer break. We look forward to welcoming you for this special Tuesday Fellowship event.

Friendly Club Special Event – Thursday 16th July

Why not join us for a special afternoon of music, friendship, and refreshments at the Friendly Club?

On Thursday 16th July, we will be entertained by The Filtonaires, followed by a delicious Cream Tea. It's a wonderful opportunity to enjoy good company, make new friends, and spend a relaxing afternoon together.

The Friendly Club meets every Thursday from 2.00pm to 4.00pm at Westbury-on-Trym Methodist Church. We enjoy chatting, playing Scrabble and other games, and sharing tea and biscuits in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Whether you're a regular visitor or thinking of coming for the first time, you will receive a very warm welcome.

A group of members from our church had the pleasure of attending the Bristol & South Gloucestershire Circuit Assembly on Sunday 31st May.

It was a joyful and uplifting day of worship, fellowship, inspiring testimonies, and encouragement, centred on the theme: “Taste and see that the Lord is good” (Psalm 34:8).

We were blessed by the warm welcome, meaningful conversations, and the opportunity to gather with Methodists from across the Circuit. It was a wonderful reminder of God's goodness, the strength of our Methodist family, and the joy of sharing faith together.

Thank you to everyone who helped organise such a special event. We returned encouraged, renewed, and grateful.

THE FRIENDLY CLUB

The club meets every Thursday from 2-4pm at Westbury-on-Trym Methodist Church. This is a place to chat, play Scrabble and other games and make friends. We also have occasional “Special Events”. The next is on Thursday11th June when Miss Sue Robinson will tell us the story of her dog Lumi.
Come and meet them both.

£3 including tea and biscuits.
You are welcome to all our meeting.
