Last week we had the first of our end of term celebrations and wow, what a time was had 😍🎉

A huge thank you to the incredible NGAIO for DJ’ing and bringing all the vibes and for the delicious cookies 🍪

Hello folks 👋🏾 we have been very busy behind the scenes here at Black Mothers Matter and we are very excited to announce that we are looking for volunteers for our Community Advisory Board!

If you are;

Passionate about improving Black maternal health…

You have lived experience as a Black mother, parent, birth worker, family member or community member…

You care about amplifying Black voices and shaping services in our community…

And can attend 4 - 6 meetings per year…

Wow it’s end of term and it’s been a busy one! It’s been so great meeting so many new members of our community and we are already excited for next term! We will be back, week commencing the 1st June and have so many things planned, including our end of term summer party, movement sessions, day trips and another wellness retreat!

As we come to the end of Black Maternal Health Week, our feeds have been filled with so many positive stories and it’s been so beautiful to see. Now it feels like the right time for us to share ours 🖤

This year’s theme is “leading with solutions, not trauma,” and this really resonates with us. At Black Mothers Matter, we always try to lead from a place of joy 🖤

Last weekend, we hosted our fourth wellness retreat for Black mums — creating space for connection, rest, and reflection. Alongside important conversations around Black maternal mental health, we held a range of activities focused on both mental and physical wellbeing.

Spaces like this matter.

And we already can’t wait to host the next one ✨ 🖤
