Pistachio, lemon and cardamom cake for my lovely neighbour's birthday.

Topped with handmade models of Affy; her horse and her. And because I was invited to the meal I got to try the cake too...yum!

A gardening carrot cake complete with molehills and a tiny snail for my Mum's 70th. Lots of discussion on how to cut it 🤣 can confirm it was tasty!

We are back from our travels and I am back baking. However...I am currently just baking for friends and family and I currently have no plans to re-open Gokin Bakes in the foreseeable future.

I'm still looking forward to making and sharing pictures of my creations.

This is a 70th Birthday cake for one of my neighbours and I was really happy with how the autumnal leaves blowing in the wind turned out.

Inside was victoria sponge with strawberry jam and vanilla buttercream. Scroll through the pics for wip shots!

NB 20 eggs and several kilos of butter were harmed in the making of this cake...which necessitated thinking outside the box for the cake base. Thank you Ikea Billy bookcase shelf 🤣

Two tier 80th Birthday cake, coffee cake on the bottom and carrot cake with orange buttercream and apricot jam on the top.

This had to survive a car trip to Devon, and was assembled at the venue and not by me, which provided a new element of stress (followed by relief when I got the assembled pics through) 😊

I'm very happy with how this turned out and the colour scheme is gorgeous.

Favourable reports also received on the taste...

And that was my last bake, kit has been packed up for storage for a year.

A treasure chest chocolate cake for my niece who just turned 6.

This was a tough ask on the hottest day of the year, but she absolutely loved it! I got to try it and it tasted great too 😁
