The Farm Stand will be open tomorrow from 8:30am ๐Ÿ™‚

Please bear in mind that stock will be very limited, as most of our preparation went into Saturday's bake, which ended up being our biggest one yet โ€” close to 700 products, all sold before 11:00am ๐Ÿคฏ

We plan to have:

โ€ข Little Sourdough (but delicious)
โ€ข Focaccias
โ€ข Cinnamon Rolls
โ€ข Cardamom Knots
โ€ข Pain au Chocolats
โ€ข Croissants
โ€ข Brownies
โ€ข Amarettis

Most of the products we make have a long lead time, so we can't simply make more on the spot. For context, our bread takes 2โ€“3 days to make, while our viennoiserie takes at least 3 days!

We're a small-batch bakery, not a factory, just a husband and wife duo, but we keep pushing ourselves week after week to make the best bakes we can - for you ๐Ÿ™‚

Apologies to those of you who made the journey today and didn't manage to get any bread.

We appreciate every single person on our doorstep. With the market being cancelled, we were really worried. But now there isn't a single bake left in the house ๐Ÿ™‚

We will have limited stock available tomorrow morning in case you missed out today, but it will be a small Sunday bake โ€” nothing compared to today, as today we were baking from 00:30am.

Wow, we sold all our bread ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Thank you, Bolsover, for coming out on such a rainy day to buy our products. We thought we had unlimited stock, but we could barely keep up with restocking the Farm Stand. It was busy right from the moment we opened.

We are in disbelief at how busy we got, and we are so grateful. Thank you.

We still have some focaccia and pastries left, and we'll post an update if we sell out in case you're planning to make the journey.

We're also planning to have some stock available tomorrow (nowhere near as much as today) that we simply couldn't bake today, as we were baking all night.

We have bad and good news...

Unfortunately, the Bolsover Artisan Market has been cancelled due to the weather. Which is the right decision โ€” nobody wants flying gazebos or airborne pain au chocolat...

For us, it's quite late notice. At this point, all the bread intended for the market has already been shaped, and there's no stopping the pastries either. As I write this, dough is patiently waiting to be turned into cinnamon rolls.

The good news is that we built our FARM STAND with weather in mind, and it has been passing the recent weather tests well.

We have prepared enough bakes for both the Farm Stand and the Bolsover Artisan Market, so tomorrow's stock levels may be approaching unlimited ๐Ÿ˜…

So if you need bread tomorrow โ€” or even if you don't need bread but somehow find yourself wanting some anyway โ€” come and visit our Farm Stand ๐Ÿ™‚

We usually share the final bake results, but preparations are going so well and everything is looking so good that we just wanted to share how things look before the bake ๐Ÿ™‚

The pastries are prepared and looking great โ€” probably better than ever. But this is only part of their journey. They still need sweet and gentle 5+ hour proof, followed by baking on Saturday.

The cardamom knots are looking extra scrummy. We've managed to get a few twists into every single one of them, so they'll be even more intricate than usual.

There's still a lot of prep ahead of us, but we're so excited about how everything is coming together that we had to share it ๐Ÿ˜‰

Preparations are already underway as weโ€™re planning to pull off our biggest bake day to date ๐Ÿ’ช

As always, everything will be baked fresh on the very same morning, so you can expect the freshest bakes possible on the stall โ€” baked just 5 minutes down the road from the market!

Youโ€™ll find us in our usual spot, right in front of the post office.

The stall will be ready for service from 10am ๐Ÿ™‚

Important Service Update ๐Ÿ‘ˆ

We've decided to stop our current local Delivery offering.

Over the past few months it has become increasingly difficult to manage. Bake days have become longer, and we're now attending markets on most Sundays, which means jumping straight into preparation on Saturday morning. More often than not, I'd come home to an overflowing sourdough starter already demanding attention for Sunday's batch ๐Ÿคฆ

Don't get us wrong โ€” we absolutely love being busy and we love baking. But we also have a family to run, so we're making a few changes to make sure everything stays in balance. Happy kids, happy bakers, and the ability to keep producing the best products we possibly can ๐Ÿ™‚

Alongside this, we're also making a few changes to our product range.

For the time being, we're phasing out baguettes. They are sadly the most labour-intensive item on the menu and also the one product we simply can't scale. That's why you haven't seen them at the markets recently.

We're sorry if this affects your Saturday. The good news is that we'll be introducing more new ๐Ÿ‘ˆ products instead โ€” products that more people will be able to enjoy, as we could only ever make around 15 baguettes at a time...

The final stage of Saturday's Focaccia journey... coming out of the oven ๐Ÿ™‚

These are 5kg trays of focaccia. I got a bit wobbly with the second one ๐Ÿ˜… The pressure of being filmed got to me...

We start making the dough for Saturday's focaccia on Thursday evening. Because it's sourdough, it takes over 24 hours from start to bake, with the final proof beginning at 1am on Saturday morning ๐Ÿ˜ด

That's probably why it tastes so good ๐Ÿ™‚
