π₯ TIP OF THE WEEK π₯
In association with Match Fishing Magazine
Q: "Are PVA bags of micro pellets and a wafter just a winter tactic or do they work through spring and summer too, and if so does anything change when using them?"
π¨ Zak Williams says: "As far as PVA bags go I always find they fish better in the summer months than any other time of year as they often bring quicker bites than the method does! For me in the winter, I find myself fishing the method a lot more than the PVA bag on venues were you have to sit and wait for bites. My rule of thumb is if I'm waiting over 15 minutes on a PVA bag, a method feeder will probably be the better options.
So in the summer months when the fish are more active and feeding, the PVA bag is without a doubt a very effective method, and for me I would say is a much more effective way to fish in the summer months over the winter months. You can also feed bigger pellets in a PVA bag whereas it's a lot harder to get 4mm or 6mm pellets to mould around a feeder. On places like the awesome Barston Lakes, the difference between PVA bags and the feeder at this time of year is unbelievable and I've found you get a lot quicker bites. So my advice is definitely get them PVA bags tied up and ready to go this summer as you will be in for some arm aching action!"
We'll post another tip here next Wednesday!
