Just a little insight to who once taught this style of cakes was a man named Joseph Lambeth: The method is named after Joseph Lambeth, a British-American decorator who popularised this intricate style in his 1934 book, The Lambeth Method of Cake Decoration & Practical Pastries.

Lambeth cakes have resurged in popularity as a trendy, “vintage” choice for weddings, birthdays, and special occasions.
