Important notice – fraudulent fundraising website

The British Eventing Support Trust has become aware of a fraudulent website that has been created using our logo, branding and terminology, and which falsely claims to be raising funds on behalf of the Trust via a raffle.

We would like to make it absolutely clear that this website is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the British Eventing Support Trust in any way.

We take this matter extremely seriously and have reported the website to the police, the National Cyber Security Centre and the relevant domain provider. We are actively working with the appropriate authorities to have the site removed as quickly as possible.

We urge members of the eventing community and the wider public to remain vigilant and to exercise caution when making donations or entering fundraising activities claiming to support the Trust.

If you are ever unsure whether a fundraising initiative is legitimate, please contact us directly before making a donation.

You can reach us via our official email address ([email protected]), telephone number (0333 335 5604) or by sending us a direct message through our verified social media channels.

❗️Survey help needed - Horses and drones❗️

On behalf of National Highways, a survey is being run to explore equestrian perceptions and experiences of riding horses close to motorways, A-roads and near to drones.

National Highways is responsible for operating, maintaining and improving motorways and major A roads across England. They are currently exploring how drones can be used to improve the safety and efficiency of their operations, both for workers and road users. This may include using drones to conduct aerial surveys of roadside assets and structures, collecting traffic data for locations with limited detection infrastructure or to help monitor and respond to incidents.

Drone operators working on behalf of National Highways follow strict safety rules and national standards, such as the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). National Highways understand that drone operations may be visible or audible to horse riders from paths and bridleways close to National Highway’s operated roads. This study will be used to identify and capture horse riders’ key concerns relating to drones, and to determine how National Highways can best mitigate these to minimise any future impact of expanded operational drone use.

The responses will help shape National Highways’ future operational best practice and safety procedures relating to drones. All responses are anonymous and no personally identifiable data will be collected unless you provide it yourself. The survey should take around 10 minutes to complete.

⚠️ Equine Influenza Reminder ⚠️

British Eventing is urging members to remain vigilant following an increase in Equine Influenza cases across the UK.

We are encouraging all competitors, organisers and officials to:

✔️ Check vaccinations are up to date
✔️ Monitor horse temperatures before events
✔️ Avoid travelling horses showing signs of illness
✔️ Continue practising good biosecurity measures

The health and welfare of horses remains our absolute priority.

There will be increased vaccination checks at all BE Events and any horse that does not have the correct vaccinations will be required to leave site.
