This is not my cake! However this is brilliant example of how much cakes actually cost.
Someone contacted me recently with a picture of a cake, I asked the usual questions re. Size etc and gave them a quote. They asked for a smaller cake so again gave them a quote- it was still too dear! I gave a very reserved breakdown of materials ( not including electric, tax, insurance etc) which was half of what the quote was- still too dear and guess what? That’s ok.
Some people shop in Harrods, some people shop in Tesco- it’s the same in most business, if I’m not your baker and you’re not my customer that’s ok.
But please be mindful of the hours a baker puts into creating your cake, it can be hours sometimes days of work……..

Hi all
I am due to exhibit at the pipe band championships this Saturday in Belfast. I am really in 2 minds what to do given what’s going on and the unpredictable time.
I have been baking mad, so was thinking should I do a pop up between Friday and Saturday????
