One of my favorite human beings and friends died this week.So of course FB memories had to remind me with this picture today. This was taken back in 2011. The statistics of actually overcoming drug addiction or alcoholism is literally like 1 in a million. But I always like to think those odds are not true. But in the picture you see here are the ones everyone would have bet would make it. These were my homies. In the last 14 years we started treatment centers, wrote best selling books , traveled the world , played with Rockstars , got married and had kids all of the things we thought were impossible. But now 2 of these guys are gone. And only 2 of us remain. Which is crazy because of the programs we ran, the service we did , the support we had NONE of us should be dead! Wayne H was the first one to go and now our brother Ian Depew left us this week. Years apart but in the same week which is scary . The 2 left are myself and Bryan LaGassa which is even crazier because when I moved into Cass st sober living back in 2010 I took Bryan’s bunk as he was moving out. I am sorry for all people who never got to meet these two and I am heartbroken for Brenna Jupin and her 4 amazing kiddos that will not grow up with their dad now. But this is a post not to say anything common sense about hug your loved ones or be nice to each other no sh*t. It’s about supporting the people in recovery you know.Even if you don’t understand addiction let me explain it simply. IT SUCKS! None of us want to go through this hell or put anyone else through it but until you have a cure realize it is still taking out the best human beings on this planet daily! We are one less spark plug in the engine today and I hope heaven knows how lucky it is to get our friend. Rock On & God Bless
PS if you comment and it is not relevant or filled with profanity I will remove it. Much love 🤘🏼❤️🙏🏻
