Lithium are critical conductive components that connect the internal electrodes of a to the external battery terminals or circuit. They are typically made of thin metal strips – nickel, aluminum, or copper – depending on the they serve.
Positive tab ( tab): Usually made of aluminum (e.g., 1060, 1050, or 1100 alloy), sometimes with nickel-plated or copper-clad variants for welding.
Negative tab ( tab): Typically made of pure nickel or nickel-plated copper to prevent corrosion and ensure low resistance.
Key Features:
1. High electrical conductivity – ensures minimal energy loss.
Excellent weldability – compatible with ultrasonic, laser, or resistance welding.
2. Corrosion resistance – especially important for aluminum tabs exposed to electrolyte.
3. Flexible thickness & width – tailored to battery capacity (e.g., 0.1–0.4 mm thick, 2–100 mm wide).
Applications:
(1) (18650, 21700, etc.)
(2)
(3) (where tabs are often pre-attached to the electrode foil)
