It is with heavy hearts that we are announcing that The Bake Oven will be closing its doors on April 15th for good. We understand that this will have a tremendous impact on our customers and create a huge void in the Dutch community at large. For over 60 years, our small bakery, had been a beloved institution serving up warm, freshly baked breads, buns, and of course our signature cakes and pastries to people from not only Winnipeg, but people all over the country. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing global issues over the past few years and rising costs, it is no longer feasible to continue to provide such great products on a consistent and affordable level. It is for that reason that the owner has made the difficult decision to shut the doors for good. We understand that this news will be leaving many of our loyal customers and friends with a tremendous sense of nostalgia and loss, as we were more than just a place to shop, but a warm and familiar spot for friends and family alike to gather, share stories and catch up with those who were close to them. It’s a sad reminder of how precious the time we have together really is and a reminder of the ever-changing nature of our world. We would like to take this opportunity to thank ALL of you for the friendships and loyalty you have given to us over the many years and even decades.
