Behind the scenes at NutmegSpiced 🇬🇩

Many of the flavours you taste in our cakes don’t come from a local grocery store. All of our cakes are uniquely flavoured 📌

Our bergamot (a fragrant citrus used in many Grenadian cakes), our essence, and several of our spices are imported directly from Grenada.

These ingredients are part of what makes our recipes taste like home.

Without them, the flavour would be different.

When we talk about pricing, we’re not just talking about flour, sugar, and butter. We’re talking about sourcing specialty ingredients from the island that give our products their distinctive flavour and authenticity.

It’s one of the many ways we choose quality over convenience.

One thing most people don’t know about NutmegSpiced is that one of our key ingredients isn’t available in Canada.

It’s an essence made in Grenada 🇬🇩 and it’s what makes many of our products taste like home.

People often ask why small Caribbean bakeries charge what they charge, but sometimes the answer is that we’re importing ingredients from tiny islands because there is no substitute. 🇬🇩
