Got back from an amazing trip to Japan🇯🇵 and now 10x more inspired to make matcha desserts here! Even a small store had really amazing matcha goods and there was just so much matcha in Kyoto that it honestly felt so overwhelming. It’s definitely a matcha capital. I wish we could go to Uji but the heat was too much for me to do a day trip anywhere.
BTW the matcha shortage is real.

Carrot cake with cream cheese frosting with a candied walnut on top (this is nut free otherwise)
A chocolate loaf cake filled with dark chocolate bits
Browned butter chocolate chip cookies
Brookies which is a love child of a cookie and a brownie!
