Mary Macleod’s Shortbread was founded in 1981. Her shortbread was an instant hit and after 35 years it’s still a Toronto favourite.

She began baking her signature Chocolate Crunch from a small shop under the marquee of the Capitol Theatre in Toronto.

It all started with Mary, who founded Mary Macleod’s Shortbread in 1981. Her daughter-in-law, Sharon, carried her vision forward, growing the business while keeping Mary’s traditions at its heart.
Today, Mary’s granddaughter Jasmine has joined the family business, bringing the third generation into the story.
