Dear all! I know that I seemed to have disappeared for a while, and I have been getting lots of emails asking if I am still making cakes! The answer is YES I am still making cakes, in fact, it is the very reason why I have not had the time to come onto Facebook to upload photos and to keep you all posted as much as I'd like. 2015 so far have been a heck of a journey, I thought that I would have some time to slow down after the wedding season....but noooope, it was far from what i expected! Thank you all so so much for being so loyal to my "Piece of cake". I sincerely apologized that I have been having to declined a huge amount of order requests over the year. I especially feel bad declining many of you who have been my loyal customer year after year, for all the special occasions in your life. I need time to make each cake special and so I must limit the amount of orders that I can accept. I am currently FULLY BOOKED for November and December already! Orders are also starting to full up for January 2016. Pleaseeeee I highly suggest placing your orders early for those very special occasions. I just hate to say no! :( Finally, latest update: The Piece of Cake Kitchen have moved! (not once but TWICE!) We blessed to be building a new home with a newer, better, custom kitchen soon (although I LOVE and miss my last kitchen *sob*)! We are at our temporary location until the home is completed then we will be doing our third and final move! Please don't assume and try to pick up your orders at the old locations! We are still in Richmond but make sure your confirm before coming! I have so much more to say but no enough time, so that's all for now! Lots of Love, Kelly

Hope everyone is having a great summer so far! Sorry to those of you who have messaged me for short noticed orders and have not heard back from me :( I have been doing back to back orders since spring and especially now in the midst of wedding season, by the time I have read your message it was too late to even begin the design process. I highly recommend allowing at least 6 weeks advanced noticed for any custom orders. This gives us time to communicate all the details before the order can be confirmed and slotted into my calendar (I cannot save a date unless everything is confirmed). I love making cakes for you so please allow me this pleasure by contacting me early. Happy summer! Enjoy the cooler air and much needed drizzle of rain today!

LOVE (& excruciating heat) is in the air!!! I am now fully booked for weddings on all weekends (fri/sat/sun) to end of September! I am still accepting cakes and cupcakes order requests for smaller party size but please keep in mind an advance notice of at least 4-6 weeks is highly recommended. Happy happy Sunshine everyone!♡

Finally a beach themed wedding! So happy I had the opportunity to meet with a very kind couple, Sabrina and Christopher, and was able to create a custom cake for their special day. They needed a cake to goes with their indoor beach-themed wedding, and requested a design that is elegant and clean looking (no sand, seaweed or little sea creatures!). Main colours were ocean blue, pearl white and a hint of silver. After some time of bouncing back and forth ideas and photos, we decided on our overall design, and they left the little details up to me. Our creation was a five tier fondant covered cake (80+ lbs!!) with handcrafted ocean blue seashells cascading down one side and a matching hand-crafted seashell & starfish cake topper. To tie in the look all around, i added a "drizzle" of shimmery blue and white pearls landing on every tier. It was such a fun cake to make and fulfilled a design that I had always wanted to do! Thank you Sabrina & Christopher once again for this awesome opportunity.

It was a pleasure meeting Amy and Wilson and an honor to be able to create this custom cake for their special day. They were such a friendly and cool couple, very relaxed and easy-going during our consultation, well-prepared with photos and materials, but very receptive to ideas. They main colour scheme was a blend of deep,bold, peacock-inspired colours. The cake is a mix of grey-ish purple and white, designed with a pearly drape accent and a ruffled mid-tier. The cake topper helps to pull together a blend of all the wedding colours. This beautiful intimate wedding took place at Brix resturant. A very cool and chix resturant which i think matches this couple perfectly. Thank again, Amy and Wilson!

Ok, I am embarressed to say that this photo album was from almost one year ago. But hey, its better late than never, right?! Just time for Hannah & Aissa's upcoming one year anniversary :D This cake design was custom made excatly to how the bride wants it. Based on the colors of mint & creamy white, this cake is accented with a rows of shimmery fondant pearls and a over-sized handcrafted gumpaste fantasy flower. It's subtle yet bold, and displayed beautifully at the outdoor garden of Brock House Resturant. Thank you again to the beautiful couple and congratulations to your upcoming one year wedding anniversary!

This giant cupcake was ordered for celebrating my customer, Connie,'s birthday. Its design features the "Little Twin Star", as per custom request. I first create the 2-D Twin Star design on paper, then carefully cut out the pieces one by one into fondant and attempted to fit it all back together. I must say, this seemingly simple design is definitly decieving and the process took quite a bit longer then i had anticipated. It was very tricky to cut very clean sharp lines through the fondant (something i am VERY particular about) and it was actually really difficult to make all the piece and then try to fit them back FLUSH together! With all that being said, i LOVE how this cupcake turned out. It's so sweet and soft and reminds me of the little twin star drinking cup I had all through my childhood. :) Thank you so much for that & for your order Connie!

Attention Wedding couples of 2015! I am so excited to announce that my calendar is starting to fill up quickly on wedding orders this year! I have really enjoyed the last several months meeting and cake-planning with many many wonderful couples, and still looking forward to continuously doing so! With that being said, if you have not book a consultation with me yet, i urge you to do it as soon as possible, as i am starting to even double book for certain dates particularly in June, Aug & September. I only allow myself up to 2 wedding orders per weekend as I plan to still accept regular custom cake orders all year around. I look forward to hearing from you all! PLEASE NOTE: If I don't reply right away, I am NOT ignoring you. I usually read all my message as soon as they arrive, but I try to reply in the order that I have received them. How wonderful is it to be able to celebrate your birthday with your child! This cake was ordered by Gigi, personally designed for her husband and son who had celebrated their birthdays together. It was based on a circus tent theme, using specifically, the Ikea "CIRKUSTÄLT" children's tent, as the inspiration. Handcrafted monkey daddy and baby monkey happily enjoying bananas and circus balls in the grass :D Hope it was a memorable birthday for your family!! Thank you Gigi again for your order :)
