Port Alberni, you showed up. 🥹🍞💓

Just over 50 Fern & Flour goodies made the trip from Quesnel to the Island with my parents, and we could feel the hometown love all the way up here.

There’s something pretty special about sending a little piece of this Northern BC business back to the community I grew up in. Thank you to everyone who ordered, shared, or told a friend about us. 💓

And a HUGE thank you to my parents for playing delivery crew… and apparently taking the Jalapeño Cheddar loaf on a full “ Beaver Creek Netzer” (iykyk) photoshoot. 😂🌲🍞

Meet our Sourdough Pancake Mix!

Made with our dehydrated sourdough starter and all the dry ingredients already measured out for you. Just add milk, an egg, melted butter + vanilla and breakfast is basically handled. 🤎

Each bag makes 6–8 fluffy pancakes, perfect for slow weekend mornings… or very much not slow weekday mornings. 😂

Well… THAT was a welcome back 🫪🍞💗

I’m back from my trip, survived a wildly busy week getting caught up, and then somehow sold out in just under an HOUR yesterday?!

I honestly couldn’t believe how busy that first hour was. We even had someone come all the way down from Prince George just for loaves 🥹 Like… what?!

Thank you SO much to everyone who came by yesterday. I clearly need to bake more bread next week 😂

A little market update, for a very good reason. 🤍

Today is our 5th wedding anniversary, and after 2.5 months apart, I finally get to hop on a plane this week and see my husband. 😭💙

He’s a commercial diver and has been away on a job in Ontario, and won’t be home until the fall, so I’m taking a rare weekend away from the bakery to sneak in some much-needed time together.

That means Fern & Flour will not be at the Quesnel Farmers Market on August 15th. 🍞

Thank you for always supporting this little one-woman bakery and the life happening behind it, too. I’ll be back under the pink tent the following weekend!

Peach season called… we answered. 🍑✨

Meet our NEW Brown Sugar Peach Sourdough Rolls 🤎

Soft sourdough rolls swirled with brown sugar + cinnamon, topped with juicy BC peaches from Sweetie’s Fruit Truck, and finished with a peachy glaze.

Sweet, sticky, summery goodness in every little swirl. 🍑

We haven’t made any of our rolls in a hot minute (I KNOW) but could not resist when I saw these gorgeous peaches at Sweeties Fruits when grabbing our blueberries this week! 😍

Unfortunately, we won’t be at the Quesnel Farmers Market this Saturday due to personal health reasons.

If you know Fern & Flour, you know it’s just me behind the scenes. Every loaf, every market, every set up and take down, every early morning and late night. Making the decision to miss a market wasn’t easy, and I’ll admit I’m feeling pretty guilty about it.

But sometimes the best thing we can do is listen to our bodies and take the time to recover.

Thank you so much for your understanding, kindness, and continued support. I hope to be back next week, feeling better than ever, and can’t wait to see all your familiar faces in Quesnel.
