Hi, my name is Shereen Matheson. I started baking with a turquoise Easy-Bake oven as a young girl. It didn’t take long to become frustrated with the slow and small production from that little oven powered by a light bulb and graduate to baking with a real oven with the help of my Mom and my Nancy Drew Cookbook. I’ve been an enthusiastic baker ever since! I’m happy to bake any time of the year, but
Christmas is my favourite time. A few years ago, our first year in the Oceanside area, we were going away for the holidays, so I wasn’t planning to do any Christmas baking. But, a friend asked if I would make some treats for her to put in her freezer. I was happy to get my baking pans out and get to work! She liked my baking and she urged me to set up a small business to bake for others … and Shereen’s Holiday Bakeshop was born. Many people like to have home-baked treats, especially over the holidays, for entertaining family and friends or simply to enjoy with their afternoon cup of coffee or tea. But I understand that some people are not inclined towards baking and others simply don’t have the time. That’s where I can help … my holiday treats are baked in small batches in my French Creek kitchen and packaged by the dozen for you to enjoy now or to stash away in your freezer. All of my treats are family and friend favourites … some I’ve been baking for years and some are new. They have all been freezer-tested to ensure their good quality is maintained. I am usually at the Qualicum Beach Farmers Market right before the Christmas holidays. I look forward to meeting you there!
