Mother Renews Search for Son Missing at Mont-Tremblant

Ten months after her son disappeared at a Quebec ski resort, Ontario mother Kathleen Toman has returned to Mont-Tremblant to revive the search and appeal for new information.

Toman is spending the weekend in the village — which is seeing heavy traffic due to the World Cup — speaking with visitors and distributing wristbands in hopes of sparking a lead. “We’re here to keep the awareness,” she said.

Her son, 22-year-old Liam Toman, vanished on Feb. 2 while on a ski trip with friends. He was last seen around 3 a.m. leaving a bar, but never made it back to his hotel. His wallet was discovered on March 22, after snow had melted, but offered no clues.

“Nobody just vanishes,” Toman said. “We truly believe somebody does know something.”

The reward for information has recently been raised from $10,000 to $50,000. Toman hopes the increased incentive may trigger memories from anyone who was in the area that night.

In November, the family conducted a large-scale search with the Quebec provincial police (SQ) and volunteer groups. The SQ told CTV News there are currently no new developments.

The family has also launched a website, LiamToman.com, outlining the timeline of his disappearance and ways the public can assist.

Despite months without answers, Toman says she remains determined. “I will not stop. Our family will not stop. We’re going to figure this out.”
