First stop was the Drayton Chop House for lunch and then to Farmmoire in Drayton a barn converted into a gift shop, if you are looking for an unusual gift or some sourdough baking head to Frammoire in Drayton. Our scenic drive across the dam to Floralane Greenhouse south of Dorking were healthy colourful annuals drew us in we ended our trip at the flower house where we could treat ourselves or somone else with a bouquet of cut flowers.

it was a day of Good Food - Good Friends - Good times

Wed. May 27 Huron-Perth District Annual Co-Host Carry-On had 9 members attend. Marybelle and Shirley donated the desserts , Carry-On supplied the table centres and helped to set up and clean up. Carry- On also gave a challenge to the other branches check the attachment to see what it was, and be thinking about how we can win!

We were treated to 3 speakers Margaret McInroy and Ria Stewart on their trip to the ACWW convention in Ottawa. Encouraged us all to Think about going to the next convention in Ireland

Rachel King General manager of the Blyth theatre gave us an overview of what goes on behind the scenes to get the play ready for the theatre goers at the Blyth theatre. Blyth does all canadian plays, about canadians many shown for the first time in Blyth.

Elsie Spencer from Listowel, attends Norwell District Secondary School the winner of the "New" Huron perth District Bursary of $500. Elsie read her winning essay which noted many ways we can encourage our young people tostay and live and work in our rural communities when they complete their education.

Some take aways from the district annual:

1.Farmers cannot use their own seed for crops anymore so makes it all more costly.

2.Food banks are lacking in personal hygiene products, one thing mentioned was Depends. Could we request at each meeting for something to be donated

3. Womens institute's mandate is to educate can we work with other groups eg. library to educate people on a craft, use of a machine, cooking, sewing.

4. Learned from Sonia Gaudreau from Majestic WI what the Red Tent Movement Is.

5. the district gave each branch a cheque for $250 to support a food program in their area.
Tomorrow starts a brand new month. Stay tuned!

Blessed Sunday May you always start your day with gratitude.
