Today is Action Anxiety Day, an annual international awareness and education day occurring on June 10th, is the 1st world anxiety awareness day.

I myself have a health anxiety disorder. I’m not ashamed! I’m working everyday on myself and have made tremendous progress.
Then, Covid hit and I had some serious set backs. I’ve learned a lot about myself this passed year and a half…I couldn’t have done it without effort and my amazing support system. My close friends and family know the daily events and were there for me (this is also a tribute to them). I can never repay them enough for all the love I’ve received!
But I’m not done yet…I have amazing days and then I have big set backs. The best way that I can describe anxiety is like being followed by someone that feeds you useless thoughts. It knows your insecurities and uses it against you. I now find a funny name for mine and ask her to follow me…that way I can keep living my life and not stay in a room alone with my thoughts.

This Sunday is a special day. It’s a time to reflect on all the conversations, all the embraces, the laughter and tears and all the good moments with my mother.
