✨Dark Chocolate Truffle✨

My vegan twist on the classic chocolate truffle recipe I developed in culinary school. I really wanted to take what I love about dark chocolate and bring out everything there is to love about it.

Some people don’t give dark chocolate a chance - they try a high cocoa % and find it too bitter. I think you’ll change your mind when you bite into these creamy, smooth, dark chocolate truffles coated with cocoa powder.

🌺 What’s a mallow? 🌺

The mallows are another name for the Malvaceae flower family. You may not have heard of this name before, but I guarantee you that you have heard of some of their famous family members. The Malvaceae family features cacao, the star of any chocolate treat, as well as hibiscus, okra, durian, baobab, and even the (slightly less edible) cotton plant! This versatile family of flowers is what inspired our name and our nature-focused approach to creating delicious treats!

Hi everyone!

A lot has happened since I had to shut down Unfamiliar Oven - I had to move quickly and just couldn’t keep creating delicious things for you.

But!

We are making a comeback! Charlie and I are taking what we loved about Unfamiliar Oven and building a more comprehensive brand that we can develop into a full business of deliciousness!

We are renaming ourselves “Mallow” ✨

Follow us as we grow into something new! I’ll post every step of this transformative process. Thank you so much for your support so far - we can’t wait to take this adventure with you!

Today I made you a Habanero Jam. Hot Pepper fans, B E W A R E. I suffered making it so you can suffer/enjoy eating it. Between this and a Peach Habanero Jam, that’s every fresh habanero Pepper off my Pepper tree!

They’ll be available at Magical Girl Market on December 8!
