Today was a little kitchen experiment day — testing out some protein eggie cookies and seeing if they could still hit that soft, satisfying cookie feel while adding a little extra goodness in.

The most honest review came from Audrey, of course… and after one bite she looked at me and said, “yum yum licious!” which honestly feels like the highest level of approval possible 😅🤍

And if we’re being real, that’s a pretty big deal coming from a toddler — because they do not hand out compliments unless they mean it.

Soft, sweet, colourful, and a little protein boost tucked in too… definitely one worth keeping around for easy snacks and lunchbox treats.

• What’s your favourite childhood treat or microwave hack?•

Some recipes just stick with you forever… even if you forget about them for a while.
When we were kids, my brother taught me how to make microwave Rice Krispie squares at our grandparents’ house. It felt like learning some kind of secret life skill — suddenly we could make dessert whenever we wanted.
No stove, no fancy tools… just a bowl, the microwave, and a handful of marshmallows.
Somehow I completely forgot about it for years, and it randomly popped back into my head today. The second I made it, it brought me right back to those days at my grandparents!

So here’s the little single-serve version we used to make:
Single Serve Microwave Rice Krispie Treat
1 tbsp butter
1 cup mini marshmallows
1 cup Rice Krispies cereal
Tiny splash of vanilla (optional)

Microwave butter and marshmallows in a bowl for 30–45 seconds until melted.

Stir until smooth, mix in the cereal, and press into a small dish… or just eat it straight from the bowl.
Simple, nostalgic, and still just as good as I remember.

Ps. You can also use other cereals or add any flavour chocolate chips in! 🤍

Spent some time in the kitchen getting ahead for busy days and made 32 protein hot pockets using a recipe from a friend 🤍
A mix of:
🌮 taco
🍔 cheeseburger
🍕 pizza
🥪 ham & cheese
Perfect for quick lunches, late shifts, or those nights when cooking just isn’t happening.
I also used an Alani Cookies & Cream shake to make protein pancakes — soft, freezer-friendly, and so easy to grab on the way out the door.
The kind of meal prep that doesn’t feel like a chore… just cozy kitchen time that makes the week run smoother.
Simple, filling, and ready when we need it ✨

Back in the kitchen this week and it feels so good 🤎
9 dozen raspberry white chocolate chip cookies are on the go — soft, chewy, dotted with freeze-dried raspberries and creamy white chocolate.
There’s something about getting back into a baking rhythm after a little pause. The mixer running, flour on the counter, dough chilling in the fridge… it just feels like home again.
Spring flavours are slowly making their way in around here 🌸
More to come soon.
Thank you for keeping this little kitchen busy.

Some mornings feel busy and slow all at the same time.
I was up at 6am meal-prepping pulled pork… then crawled back into bed for a bit. Not long after, I was woken up to a sick little babe 💔. A warm bath, some medicine, lots of cuddles — and then we eased back into the day.

I made brioche buns to go with the pulled pork, waffles to stock the freezer for the next few weeks, and used up the last of the broccoli in the fridge with a quick cheesy sauce. Snow falling outside, the house warm, and Dylan out fixing his truck while I cooked our way through the morning.

Not the plan I imagined — but still one that felt steady in its own way.

There’s something about getting a space reset that just makes everything feel a little lighter.
I finally tackled the linen closet and cleaning supplies today — nothing fancy, just sorting, folding, and putting things back where they actually make sense.
I’ve been slowly buying these bins from the dollar store, and honestly… they’ve been such a game changer. Affordable, simple, and they work everywhere. Bedroom, kitchen, closets, shelves — they just make each space feel more tidy and put together without having to spend a ton of money.
It’s not about having a perfect house.
It’s just about making our home feel easier to live in.
Little changes, big difference 🤍

Lately I’ve found myself slowing down just to watch her.
The way she tries so hard to do things herself.
The pride on her face when she succeeds.
The little “I did it!” moments that fill our days.
Potty progress.
Getting dressed (with a bit of help).
Cleaning up after herself.
Brushing her teeth.
Brushing her hair.
She’s growing into such a capable, kind little person, and I am endlessly proud to be her mom 🤍

Yesterday felt really good.
After work, I made a full batch of bagels, a batch of sourdough English muffins, and my sourdough loaves are in the fridge doing their cold ferment, almost ready to bake. Flour everywhere, counters a mess, hands constantly sticky… but honestly, this is my favourite kind of day.
There’s something about the rhythm of it all — mixing, stretching, shaping, waiting, trusting the process. It slows me down in the best way and makes the house feel so full and cozy. Audrey and I shared some English muffins before bed and she helped hold my bowl while I worked my dough too!
This is the kind of work that feels like home to me.

I woke up this morning and started prepping breakfasts for the week.
While the waffles were cooking, I looked out the window and saw this little blue jay sitting there for a while - calm, unbothered, like he had nowhere else to be.
It felt like one of those quiet moments that reminds you to slow down and just notice what’s already around you.
