Who can relate to this? ππ»
I've chatted with so many moms who are on mat leave right now and some with school aged children who were at home doing remote learning. The struggle is real friends.
Now if you happen to be in the London area, today was the first day back to in person school since the Christmas holidays. Big sigh of relief from many parents I'm sure!! π
Anyways, the point is... Mat leave or being a stay at home parent is no vacation. Especially during a pandemic. Kudos to all of you parents out there!! π

MATERNITY LEAVE ...
Doble tap if you agree β₯οΈ!
βοΈWhat did you find more exhausting? Work or staying at home with your baby?
ππ»ββοΈ Hi! Iβm Ruth, the midwife behind , join me for daily post from pregnancy to baby care.
π³ Despite what many people think (especially the ones who do not have kids βΊοΈ), maternity leave is not a holiday where you spend most of the day snuggling with your sleeping baby on his/her cot while you are watching Netflix.
Maternity leave ...
Itβs a time to heal physically
Itβs a time to heal mentally, especially for some of the new mums who didnβt have an easy ride during pregnancy and/or birth.
Itβs a time to connect with your baby and your new role as a mother
Itβs a time to grow in so many different ways that you didnβt know before
Itβs a time to learn,
Itβs a period to get confident about you, about you as a mother.
βοΈ Itβs a time to adapt to your new life, to your new family
βοΈ Itβs a time to enjoy, to cry, to open up and let your emotions out and listen to you and your body.
βοΈ And this is just the top of the iceberg of what maternity leave is, far away from any type of holiday.
βοΈHow did you feel when you came back to work?
βοΈHow long is the maternity leave period where do you live?
