The cat cookie lady. Hi I'm Jan, and I like to bake stuff! New and self-taught home baker, artist, and kind of a nerd. :P

CAKE SHOWCASE - Robocop
From CONCEPT ART 🎨 to CAKE 🎂

A father's day cake! Dad loves Robocop, so I did a buttercream transfer of a pic I found. Was also asked to incorporate blue and black somehow, so did a blended border that I think came out pretty cool!

CAKE SHOWCASE - Red Roses 🌹
From CONCEPT ART 🎨 to CAKE 🎂

The theme was red roses, and also was asked to include strawberries on top. Simple and elegant.

I had never done roses before, and didn't even have the right tools for it, so I was panicking a bit 😂, but I think I pulled it off!

(the number in photo had to be changed after)

CAKE SHOWCASE - Fireworks 🎆✨

From CONCEPT ART 🎨 to CAKE 🎂

The theme was fireworks, so I wanted the background to be a dark colour, but since there wasn't much else going on, I also added purple clouds on along the side. Not too complicated, but I really loved how this one turned out!

CAKE SHOWCASE - The Backrooms

From CONCEPT ART 🎨 to CAKE 🎂

This is where it all started lol. My very first cake order this year :) I really wanted to make 3D elements for the furniture, so I used decorated sugar cookies & pretzels.

Unfortunately my cake boxes hadn't come in yet, so it came out a little wonky on the platter, but I still think it's pretty cool haha.

CAKE SHOWCASE - Thomas the Tank Engine

From CONCEPT ART 🎨 to finished CAKE 🎂

This was for an 8 year old, so I knew I had to make the 8 into a railroad. 😄 The railroad was made out of sugar cookies, and I decided to craft Thomas out of cake pieces and buttercream.

This was one of the first cakes I did this summer and I'm super proud of the result.
