Grandmas Makes, Bakes and Retakes Sewing, Alterations and other creations In my spare time I enjoy baking and sewing. Another passion is to take old things and turn them into something new.

You may find me at the Marmora Farmers Market at the park on Saturdays at 8am until sold out. Accomplishments include-Awarded first prize butter tarts! Stop in for some of the following items.

Who remembers wearing one or trying to make one when you were a teen? This one is just a prototype that will likely be in the hands of my granddaughter soon. Made out of a light weight stretch denim and lined with a cotton so it can be worn either way. Two tops in one. More coming soon.

Been a little while since I posted on this page but I have some exciting news. I am being given an opportunity to display some of my one of a kind items in a local store. I like to create and design little things but do not have the knowledge or desire to display and market them online. Watch for more upcoming announcements . These little princess costumes will be auctioned today. Bidding will start at 9:00 and end at 5:00. All proceeds will be donated to The Light Up Marmora fundraiser. These are handmade by me (Heather Habib) and will fit a variety of children sizes due to the stretch of the top. They are great for professional photo sessions or if you are looking for a pretty little hallowe’en costume. Place your bid under the dress you are interested in. Well after many hours of messing around with this housecoat, 40 plus hankies and 2 dressers scarves it’s done . I’m not loving it like I thought I would. The weight of it is much too heavy and pulling at the shoulders from the weight. I’m thinking I’ll carefully take it apart and do something different. I’m sure some may think I’m nuts but for me it’s like a jigsaw puzzle. I enjoy putting the pieces together. I digress. Maybe some little hair bows would be a better choice for all these lovely’s.
