hi friends! i just wanted to pop on here and introduce myself! i'm pretty sure most of you know me but if not...
my name is lauren! i am a wife to my engineer husband and mother to three kids, two boys, aged six and almost four and a little girl who is a year and a half old. i love reading, writing, hanging with my family, working out aaaaaand baking! duh!
i started baking with natural yeast three years ago. my sister had some starter and passed it on to me and taught me lots of tricks. after doing some research about natural yeast and learning all of it's awesome benefits, i realized that this was the BEST way for my family to get whole grain intake. i am going to link some great articles so you can learn about it too!
not all of my products are made with natural yeast, but i will always indicate when they are! when i say something is "whole wheat" i mean i have taken the wheat, ground it at home and then baked it into something delicious and nutritious that i hope you and your family will enjoy. i grind my wheat on a pastry setting, which means it is nice and light and won't bake up like a bread brick. the most popular item right now is my whole wheat sandwich loaf; it is so light and nutty and versatile. we eat it all the time! i generally mix my home ground whole wheat and a bit of all purpose flour; my mix is generally between 60-95% whole wheat. i just like to mix a bit of all purpose in to keep the bread a little lighter.
