Today is Peter's birthday! Join me in wishing my best friend and partner in everything a very happy birthday! 🥳

About a week ago I asked him what he wanted me to bake him as his birthday cake. We were watching an episode of Martha Bakes where she visited this famous New York restaurant called Cipriani. She visited with the head pastry chef there that created this magnificent Vanilla Meringue Cake. It's four layers of sponge cake filled with a vanilla Diplomat cream and covered with a very generous layer of meringue. This was his birthday cake wish and his wish has been granted ❤️

What is this? What are we doing? Why are we acting as if no one has ever made a cake with icing and sprinkles on it? Seriously. One thing I will say for certain, for as long as I have the ability to bake, you will never see a "viral" anything from me. We need to get back to a time when we valued what's good and what takes actual talent and effort to create instead of what some influencer decided to make viral.
