A little Nina update 💙🐾

Nina is home and recovering after her surgery, and we're so relieved to share that her veterinary team is very happy with how everything went. The tissue removed has been sent for testing to make sure the margins are clear, so we have one more wait ahead of us.

Her recovery will be a little challenging, but she's home, comfortable and very loved. ❤️

THANK YOU to everyone who has supported Heirloom Baking over the past few markets. Nina's veterinary care and surgery were paid for entirely with bakery earnings! Every cookie, cinnamon roll, pie and cake you purchased helped us take care of our girl when she needed it most. We're beyond grateful.

And a very special thank you to Dr. Pringle and the team at Cross Roads Animal Health Center for taking such wonderful care of Nina. 💙

Just a little reminder that Heirloom Baking will be at the Charlottetown Thrift Market this Sunday, August 23rd at Cody Banks Arena! 💙

Monday is also a very big day for our girl Nina — she’ll be having surgery to remove the cancer from her eye. 🐾

Earnings from this Sunday’s market, and likely the next few markets as well, will be going toward Nina’s veterinary care and treatment. So if you stop by for cinnamon rolls, cookies or butter tarts please know that every purchase is helping us take care of our girl. 💙

It’s been such a wonderfully busy summer, and I’m so grateful for everyone who has stopped by, taken home something sweet, and supported Heirloom Baking.

WOW! I have no words other than THANK YOU to my customers - returning and new, who came to the market today to take home a little piece of Heirloom Baking and show their support for my family.

I had a line up by 10:30AM, only had a chance to snap one picture, broke my sales record, and almost had a sell out day. This will help us so much in our upcoming medical journey with Nina.

This Sunday's market means a little more to me. 💙
I wanted to share something personal with this wonderful community.

Our sweet dog, Nina, was recently diagnosed with cancer in her third eyelid. She'll be undergoing testing next week, followed by surgery shortly after. We're hopeful that it was caught early, and we're taking things one step at a time.

If you've visited my booth before, you know that Heirloom Baking is built on family, love, and caring for the people (and animals!) who mean the most to us. Right now, that means caring for Nina.

This Sunday, every dollar earned at the Downtown Charlottetown Market will go directly toward her veterinary care.

Whether you stop by for a cinnamon roll, a butter tart, a cookie, or simply to say hello, please know that your support means more than I can put into words.
Thank you for believing in my little bakery, for supporting local, and for helping me care for one of my family members.

Too funny! In all seriousness though, my outdoor market set up wouldn't happen without my husband, Mitch. It's his handiwork behind the Fort Knox style tent strap down that keeps me from blowing away on windy market days (seriously - my tent doesn't move). He's also the carrier of the heaviest things and makes sure I have what I need to stay fed and hydrated throughout the day.

Grateful for my wonderful support system. Love you hunny! 😍💋

🍓 Fresh-picked PEI raspberries are making their way into this week's baking!

I spent Monday evening at a local U-pick gathering these beautiful berries, then turned part of the harvest into homemade raspberry jam. Both the fresh berries and the jam will be featured in a few special treats this weekend at the Downtown Charlottetown Market !

There's nothing better than baking with ingredients at their peak. ❤️
