D & K Helping Hands We sell limited Macedonian/Greek Baking. We sell limited Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Sugar Free Baking. Balance due upon pick up.

We are at the Capreol Makers Market 26 Meehan Street, Capreol, Ontario on Thursdays and Saturdays but we can also sell items by special order and on Occasional days or evening when posted. We sell left over baking on Sundays from 2:00-4:00 pm if we have any. 37 Birch Crescent. Capreol
50% Non Refundable Deposits on all Special Orders due when orders are placed. We regret we must charge a fee for

delivery due to rising costs of fuel. If customers are in Capreol we will deliver for small fee. Outside of Capreol we charge depending on where customers live. No fees for Special Orders if picked up at the Capreol Market. We accept Credit/Debit/Cash and if necessary E-Transfers

We as D& K Helping Hands want to take this time to wish all our family, friends and customers a very Safe, Blessed Merry Christmas and a Joyous, Healthy, Best of Everything Life in 2025!!!🎄🥳🥂💕🙏

After the New Year we will be posting updated news about our plans for our Regular, Gluten Free, Sugar Free, Dairy Free, baking.
Plus various other Vegan and other special items customers have been requesting.

All orders will be from our home as requested not done up on display to purchase as before at the Capreol Makers Market.

So that allows myself and now Danny to concentrate on better serving the needs of our customers at their convenience. Cash/Credit/Debit will still be the options for purchases.

For inquiring minds, I still have my Food Safety Certification.

We have been taking this Hiatus from the Capreol Makers Market from this past March 2024 to present time to both heal, travel and enjoy Danny being finally retired.

We miss so many of our valued customers and wish we could have accommodated all of their needs for this holiday season but our personal family plans were already made.

D&K Helping Hands wanted to say we hope and pray your summer is going well!!
We also wanted to update our faithful customers about my health issues. Heart is back to normal after a year. My knee is taking longer than expected. But It is slowly healing finally. May never get it back to 100% but 80% is where it is now. Am grateful for being able to walk without so much pain.
Still waiting for Neurological testing to be done.

For all the texts, emails, calls we thank e1 for the well wishes and prayers. As to when or if we will be doing our baking and when we will be starting up again, we will start taking orders last week in August.
We are no longer going to be at the Market but we wish all the vendors well.
We will not have a variety to come for you to choose from like before. It will be you call and order what you are looking for at 1-705-717-7361.
Leave a message if I am unable to take your call. I will have a price list and a list of items you can choose to order from for those of you who are not sure of what they are looking for if they have forgotten what we used to have available each week. I will try to help you decide.
We are enjoying the summer while I heal.
After Labour Day I will be baking as orders come in. No making things up and having to guess what e1 wants each week. No more just Saturdays only.
By doing from home it cuts my costs which will allow me to not increase prices very much from last year. That saves you money as well. We will do contests again as well as discounts for cash purchases.
Because I still have got my Food Safety Certification so I can continue to bake from home as you need it. No more waiting until Saturday to get your orders. I will bake Regular, Vegan,Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Sugar Free, or any combo you need for your specific dietary needs. You will just call and discuss what you need, how much you need for when you need it.
Special occasion or large orders will need to be placed 2-3 weeks ahead of when needed.Deposits for those are needed. Otherwise we will still be doing Cash/Debit/Credit upon pick up of your orders.
If in Capreol Danny will deliver if necessary. That will be decided upon when you’re placing your orders.

With a lot of praying about this and a lot of health set backs, D & K Helping Hands has with heavy hearts decided to and have pulled out of the Capreol Makers' Market as of today March 15/24.
It was a very difficult decision for us.
It has not been fair to our customers most of all that have been so loyal and there every week to purchase our items to find we are still not back with our baking. Customers can still text or call us. We feel we have let you down. It was never our intention. The harder I try to heal my knee the more set backs happen.
As everyone knows I have been off and away from the Market since last September. Paying for a space monthly since then with no money coming back in from selling our baking and crafts was also another big factor in our decision. You can only hold on so long before financially you have to say enough!!!
As everyone knows money does not grow on trees and as seniors it is not that plentiful from OAS and CPP. Lol
We had hoped to come back by Easter but that is not happening so to be fair to us, to the Market and to our customers that keep asking when we will be back, it was decided today to finally pull out. Thank you to our son Scott and our grandson Jalen for making it happen.
Thanks to Cookie and Sue for their help, support and well wishes as well.
D&K Helping Hands thanks e1 for the support and patronage this almost past 2 years from 26 Meehan then to 51B Young St.
We wish all our fellow vendors all the best going forward. We have missed them all and will continue to keep in touch. We have left craft items with Cookie and Sue to sell for us.
We may come and rent a table when we are completely healthy but that may be a long way off.
When my physiotherapist allows I will start baking all my regular and SF/GF/DF/Vegan items but it will be by special orders only and sold from 37 Birch Crescent here in Capreol.
For my regular customers if they wish to call now to place an order I will discuss further how soon I can start doing individual orders on a part time basis as I continue to heal.

I have also decided to resign as Board Secretary which will be done formally tomorrow in person when I say goodbye and hand in my keys.

D & K Helping Hands had planned on being back to the Capreol Makers' Market on Feb 24/24 part time every two weeks but due to recent set backs in my health and Danny’s upcoming eye surgery next week we have to postpone that date until March. Most likely middle to late March.
We know people have been supportive and patient. We know gluten free, sugar free, dairy free are needed plus our other regular, Macedonian/Greek breads and baking we do. I want to bake them for e1 and sell them as much as you want them trust me. Besides being home is not helping my recovery except I can crochet more!!! Lol
We ask that you be patient a while longer so that instead of coming back part time with limited items I can come back full time every week with all of your favourite items and new ones too. Cookie from Diamond Art is using our space as well as her own space. She along with us have a contest going until March 16/24 like we always have done for our customers. Discounts for our craft items will be as marked instore. Ask Cookie for information. Purchases of our craft items or her diamond art gets you an entry.
We ask that you please continue to support all the local vendors each week. Especially on the 24th and 25th during Capreol Winter Carnival days. The vendors need customers to support their businesses.
We miss everyone so much but we also know health is important to all of us. We keep everyone in our daily thoughts and prayers.

I am missing all my fellow vendors and all of our D & K Helping Hands customers so much. Being told by my physiotherapist that my falls are setting my healing back each time we see progress has been hard to accept. Chronic Depression has been something I have battled since 2004 and these health issues with my heart and knee have triggered it big time.
Today was a new low for me to send Danny to the market and not be bringing my baking like I had hoped to be doing by now.
I will keep trying to get better asap. Please everyone pray that the falls stop and my knee heals soon so I can be back at the Market with baking.

So here is my Health update :
Heart issues are improving but waiting on further testing. Physio on knee is not going well.
Still praying knee surgery won’t be necessary.
Due to increase in falls being referred to Neurologist for new assessment.

D & K Helping Hands will be away from the Capreol Makers' Market until after the New Year for medical reasons.
We apologize to our customers for not being able to provide the baking to them especially for the upcoming Holiday Season.
We ask that any local bakers (which we know there are a lot of)please contact Sue about coming and selling their baked goods there at the Market to keep it local.
With rising costs of fuel, winter road conditions etc. it makes it better to shop local for as much as possible including the fresh produce and all the other local vendors products as well that are at the Market weekly.
We feel we are letting our customers down and want them to have homemade here in Capreol baking.
Thank you for your patience, understanding and patronage this year.
We hope to be back as soon as we can in the new year.

Even though D&K Helping Hands Will not be at the Capreol Makers Market the next 3 weeks the Capreol Homeless still need our help. Crystal is in dire need of the following for her Pantry. Please drop off any of these items to our tables and Danny will make sure they get to Crystal with much gratitude.
Canned hearty soups(no pea please), stews, chili, pastas(ravioli,beefaroni, etc)almond milk, cereals, juices, protein drinks, granola bars, protein bars, nutritious snacks, cough syrup, cough candies, hot water bottles, toilet paper, baby wipes, Kleenex, heavy socks, large thermal shirts, large long johns, large waterproof winter mitts, large waterproof winter gloves.
Thank you from us and the Capreol Makers' Market for any donations of the above items to help our Homeless. They really need them and appreciate the help they receive from all of you.
