I normal make 2 loaves of chocolate bread out of 1 batch. I decided not to split it and see what happens this time. It’s HUGE!! Sitting next to a full sized garlic & herb loaf for context. Can’t wait to cut into it later 😋

I’M BACK!!! 🥳❤️

After over 3 months without an oven, I’ve finally gotten my new one. And it’s a brand new, sparkling one too!! It’s taking me a minute to figure out her style. I “might” have almost burnt a loaf or two… but I’m more confident in her quirks now!
I’m SO excited to be back at it again. I’ve missed all my baking!

It’s looking like these will be my last squished little loaves of sourdough. Today I got a call saying my new oven will be delivered in 2 days!! 🥳 I am so beyond excited to be “back in business” again!! These have been a rough 3 months, without an oven 🤪 My little toaster oven (that we got from a local Salvation Army store) has been a wonderful little work horse. But I can’t wait to retire it.

Where there is a will, there is a way!!
About a month ago, I lost my oven to power issues at our home. We have to get the whole electrical panel replaced and have decided to wait to replace the oven until after the issue is fixed. My stove top still works, thankfully. But baking was looking impossible. Until a friend mentioned seeing toaster ovens at a local thrift store. It’s been a journey, figuring out the quirks to this machine. But I’ve successfully baked a few mini loaves (along with cakes, cookies and other delights!). They are half the size of my normal loaves. But they taste delicious still! It’s taken me most of the day to find time to bake all 4 of these little treats. They take an hour each and in my big oven, I could bake 2 at a time. I miss that! But I’ve done it! 🥳
Our panel gets replaced next week. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer after that, we can replace the oven. And I can be “back in business” again 🙏🏼 I really miss my full sized oven. But I am also grateful to have something to get us through. I’ve rather enjoyed my little successes!

Happy new year everyone!
I don’t know about you, but I am excited to see what this year brings. I know I’ve been quiet on here, but I’ve not been quiet at home! Still busy in my kitchen, aka my happy place. It’s the season for soups, chilli’s, stews and all foods comforting. You know what goes well with those?! Some yummy, fresh, sourdough bread!

Hi everyone! I’m still here, baking up a storm in my kitchen. This morning it’s 2 50/50 loaves, 1 basic loaf and 1 garlic & herb loaf. All smelling delicious and ready to fill bellies!

I love that I get to do this for people. Anyone who knows me knows I LOVE food and love to share that food! This brings me so much joy. How blessed am I?! ❤️
