Sail Brunei @ KBBC on July 6 and 7

The Sail Malaysia Passage to the East Yacht Rally took off from Langkawi (Malaysia) end of March and will finish in Tawau (Malaysia) late August. When in Brunei the event will be called Sail Brunei. Saturday afternoon July 6th the participating yachts will arrive at our Kuala Belait Boat Club and will leave for Jerudong on Monday July 8th. Other destinations in Brunei are the Royal Brunei Yacht Club in Muara and Bandar. It’s the fifth time Sail Malaysia is welcomed in Brunei. Previous events were held in 2009, 2015, 2016 and 2018.

A total of 30 crew members are expected in Brunei. Most of these yachts have husband and wife crews and the majority of these are retired couples taking their big adventure to sail around the world. Their yacht is their home. They are from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, USA, UK, and Europe.

The yachts will be anchored in Belait River from Saturday afternoon July 6th until Monday morning July 8th. You are very welcome to come and see them.

KBBC will host a dinner for the sailing participants on Saturday evening July 6 from 7:00pm. If you are interested to join and meet the international captains & crews we are happy to invite you. Please contact the KBBC Commodore Sybrand IJkema 7116058.

Thank you KBBC, that was a fantastic goodbye, both of the rowing boats and me as first female Commodore!
Boating, sunset, playground, BBQ, and great friends. Thank you very much Sybrand, Niels, Remco, Jeremy and Emil - who brought me to Brunei!
