We, Main Stage Inc., wish to share an official update regarding the postponement of the event originally scheduled for 13 December, and to provide clarity on the applicable refund process.
Following the announcement of the national election schedule, government directives relating to security and public order came into effect. As a result, the event scheduled for 13 December could not be held on the intended date and was therefore postponed, not cancelled.
We acknowledge our responsibility towards our ticket holders and aim to provide clear, transparent, and legally accurate information regarding the revised timeline and refund procedure. We understand the disappointment and inconvenience this situation has caused and remain committed to managing the process with care, transparency, and full respect for the trust placed in us.
𝟭. 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁
The event could not take place as planned due to government directives issued after the announcement of the national election schedule, under which public mass gatherings were restricted for security reasons during the election period. Although the planning, approvals, and preparations for the event had commenced well in advance, these directives were imposed at a later stage and were beyond our control.
We, Main Stage Inc., hereby confirm that the event has been postponed and will be held after the election period in the year 2026.
The final date will be announced after completion of all post-election administrative and security clearances.
𝟮.𝗧𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗶𝘁𝘆 & 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
All tickets purchased for the 13 December event shall remain 100% valid for the rescheduled concert.
However, ticket holders who do not wish to wait until the rescheduled date may submit a refund claim in accordance with the refund process outlined below.
𝟯. 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲
We, Main Stage Inc., confirm that the refund process shall formally commence after completion of ten (10) official government working days calculated strictly from 21 December 2025, subject to completion of all mandatory statutory, regulatory, and verification requirements.
All updates regarding the refund process will be communicated through our official communication channels.
𝟰. 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀
The ticketing system for this event involved multiple independent stakeholders, including ticket sellers, distributors, payment gateways, and delivery partners. As some ticket holders received physical tickets while others did not, it is essential that all booking records, transaction histories, and delivery confirmations are verified and reconciled before refunds are processed.
To ensure transparency, accuracy, and protection against fraudulent or duplicate claims, Main Stage Inc. is developing a dedicated refund portal through which refund requests must be submitted.
Refunds will be processed strictly on the basis of the amount actually received by Main Stage Inc. We confirm that the amount received by us from ticket sales will be refunded to the respective ticket holders as per their entitlement, following completion of the applicable verification and regulatory procedures.
𝟱. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲
All major statutory and regulatory obligations for the event were fulfilled in advance by Main Stage Inc., including obtaining relevant permissions, confirmation of venue allotment, and payment of applicable taxes, fees, and statutory deductions in accordance with the laws of Bangladesh.
As the event was postponed, certain post event formalities must now be completed before refunds can be released. These include notifying the relevant authorities, filing mandatory reports, reconciling previously deposited taxes, and securing clearances from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, the National Board of Revenue (NBR), and other oversight bodies. Refund-related tax adjustments must also be processed in accordance with applicable laws.
These procedures are legally mandated, can only be carried out on official government working days, and depend on the internal processing timelines of the respective authorities.
𝟲. 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
We, Main Stage Inc., clarify that any ticket holder is free to seek independent legal advice or initiate legal proceedings at their discretion.
However, once any refund related matter enters formal legal or judicial jurisdiction, Main Stage Inc. will no longer be legally permitted to process or initiate refunds through the standard administrative refund process. In such cases, any refund, if applicable, will be processed strictly in accordance with the directions or orders of the competent court or authority.
We, Main Stage Inc., further clarify that all necessary legal and regulatory documentation relating to the event were duly initiated and processed through the appropriate channels. This included official correspondence and forwarding from the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, proof of tax and statutory payments, and official venue allotment and confirmation papers, as applicable under the prevailing regulatory framework.
For absolute transparency, we remain fully willing to present all such documents before any competent legal authority or court of law, should any legally concerned party wish to review them. These documents clearly establish that the Main Stage show was planned, organised, and promoted with bona fide intent, and was never conceived, represented, or executed as a scam or fraudulent activity.
𝟳. 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗵𝗮𝗸𝗮
We, Main Stage Inc., wish to clarify public queries regarding other performances by the artist in Dhaka during the same period. While Atif Aslam performed in Dhaka on 15 December and 18 December, both events were not public ticketed concerts. The 15 December performance was exclusively for members of a specific club, and the 18 December performance, although held at an outdoor venue, was organised solely for students of a particular university, with access restricted to invited participants only.
Our event, in contrast, was a public ticketed concert, open to all, involving open ticket sales and mass audience access. Following the announcement of the national election schedule, we were instructed that public mass gatherings could not be held during the election period due to security concerns, and we complied fully with that direction. We, Main Stage Inc., had no alternative but to adhere strictly to the government directives in force at the time.
𝟴. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗰.
We, Main Stage Inc., reaffirm that:
• The postponed concert will be held after the election, in the year 2026.
• Ticket holders may either retain their tickets or opt for a refund if they do not wish to wait.
• Refunds will be processed strictly in compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and verification requirements.
• All official updates will be communicated only through authorised channels.
