Our tempeh has officially made its way to Victoria!!!

For us, this has never been about scaling fast. It is about doing things with care, taking time with every batch, and partnering with retailers who share that same respect for quality and craft.

So seeing our tempeh arrive in VIC, in stores that genuinely champion thoughtful food, feels like a natural next step, and a pretty special one.

To the retailers who have brought us in, thank you for making space for us, and to those discovering us for the first time, welcome.

Hi friends and fellow tempeh lovers,

I’m Holly, the one behind the scenes at Bisque Tempeh.

We’re in our sixth year of running this little business, which honestly feels huge. Keeping a small food business going isn’t always easy, so I’m really proud that we’re still here and still growing.

My background’s in design and admin, so I look after all the creative and organisational parts of the business - branding, marketing, sales, wholesale, accounts… a bit of everything really. If you’ve emailed us, seen a post, or chatted about stockists, it was probably me.👋

I love what we’ve built. I care a lot about the product and the people who buy it, and I’m proud of the food we’re putting out into the world.

I don’t naturally love putting myself front and centre, but it feels important to show up and say hello - there are real people behind small businesses.

Shout out to the seedy one! 🌱

Our recent poll confirmed it - our Furikake Tempeh is the crowd favourite. I try not to play favourites, but this one really does hit the spot.

We make all our spice rubs in-house with the best quality ingredients: organic dulse and nori from Power Super Foods, organic sesame and chilli from our local family owned distributor, and Olsson’s sea salt harvested here in Australia.
No shortcuts, no compromises, just honest flavour and quality ingredients.

For those who asked and those who didn’t…serves 2

🌿Cauliflower spice rub
1 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp cracked pepper
1 tsp sea salt
Juice of 1/2 a lemon
2 tbsp olive oil
1 heaped tsp honey

Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl then toss through 1/2 a head of cauliflower (cut into chunks). Roast in the over on 200 deg until golden and charred.

🌿Asian slaw
1/4 medium cabbage shredded
1/2 capsicum finely sliced
1 handful of fresh coriander leaves
Toss together.

🌿Asian slaw dressing
1 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
1/2 tsp sesame oil
Salt and pepper to taste

Massage dressing into your cabbage salad.

1 x block Furikake Tempeh
Sliced and pan fried in olive oil.

Arrange all elements in a pretty bowl and add your favourite sides: avocado, Asian relish or mayo, fresh herbs etc. ENJOY!

Sydney, we’re coming back!

Don’t worry, we haven’t dropped the ball (or the box 😁)!

After taking a moment to recalibrate and move forward with even more purpose, we’re excited to return to Sydney next week.

Bisque Tempeh products will be available through .au, an online platform serving businesses across the greater Sydney area. Local businesses can simply hop online, choose from a fantastic selection of artisan products, and Prep local will deliver straight to your store.

It’s a great way to support small, local businesses - cutting out the middleman and keeping things simple, fresh, and community focused.
