The Art of Craft - Classes with Hayley King

The Art of Craft - Classes with Hayley King The Art of Craft - classes for children and adults, providing an opportunity for all to explore dif Classes run for a term on a Tuesday 4 - 5.30 pm.

The Art of Craft has been running classes for children, ages 5-10, for nearly 4 years. We explore so many different mediums on canvas, create masterpieces using wood, paper and plastic, produce mosaic art, mirrors, sewing projects and much more. Adult classes now run during the daytime, on a fortnightly basis, for a term (i.e. 4 classes over 8 weeks). Classes are for 2 hours. These will run on dif

ferent days during the week. I call these my "Coffee, Cake and Craft classes" although there is no pressure to eat my cake and you can, of course, have tea :)

One off, 3 hour, workshops will also take place throughout the term. I will post these details on a regular basis giving details of the exact project we will be working on. With all my classes, children or adult, absolutely ALL materials are included in the price (as is the cake for adults and refreshments for all!).

So I'm thinking of doing a 'guess the number of tiles in the tray' competition! I've cut that many!!! Busy creating 'mosaic tiles' for this afternoon's class. Great idea (thank you Pinterest!) of using styrofoam sheets, painted then cut into tiles!! And for our canvas....thick styrofoam sheets!! No buckling, can use both sides & we may even stick a few pins of sequins in there!!!

I loved what the girls created with mixed media on canvas this week. I'm sure you'll agree! Check out what they created for trick or treating last week! They say they can now use it as a pencil case! The week prior to that they sewed some beautiful fabric Yo-yo flowers to go in their painted plant pots. They all did fab from the just-turned-7 year old to the 11 year old!
