🐋 Investing in good people. 💙

One thing we’re really passionate about at ORCA is creating opportunities for people who want to grow.

Recently, two of the ORCA Pod’s finest, Megan Heath and Noah Bucci, have taken the next step by successfully completing the required Units of Competency on the pathway towards becoming Statutory Supervisors.

To be clear, there’s no immediate plan to throw either of them into a supervisory role. This is about getting ahead of the game, investing in their future and giving them every opportunity to develop into quality leaders when the time is right.

Over the next 12 - 18 months we’ll be pairing both Megan and Noah with experienced supervisors and involving them in shutdown planning, toolbox meetings, client discussions, ex*****on and debriefs. The qualification is one thing… but learning from people who’ve done it for years is where the real value lies.

Both are now booked to sit their Statutory Supervisor Assessment in Perth over the coming weeks and we couldn’t be prouder of the effort they’ve both put in.

A huge shout out also goes to Shane Schnaars and Jason M. from Training U Pty Ltd in Rockingham for the continued support they provide to our team. The time, knowledge and encouragement you continue to invest in our emerging leaders doesn’t go unnoticed, and we’re grateful to have you in our corner. 👏

Leadership isn’t a title… it’s something you earn through experience, attitude and a willingness to keep learning.

Congratulations Megs and Noah. Keep leaning in, keep asking questions and keep backing yourselves. We can’t wait to see where this journey takes you.

QLD!!!! We are coming!

We're incredibly excited to share that ORCA Recruitment has officially taken the first step towards expanding into Queensland! 🌴

Today we've listed our very first SEEK advertisement, seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced professionals across the Queensland crane industry.

To be clear, we're not yet operating in Queensland and we're currently working through the necessary compliance and licensing requirements before we commence business. This initial campaign is simply about getting to know the incredible people who make up the industry and building a strong network ahead of our official launch very soon.

🐋 Meet Mani… or as he’s now known on site… “Hermy!” 💙

Every now and then someone walks through the door and you just know they’re going to be a great fit.

A few months ago, Mani was introduced to ORCA Recruitment by one of the crew from a valued client. After sitting down for a chat, it didn’t take long for us to realise we had found another genuinely good bloke.

After spending his career in sales, Mani made the brave decision to step outside his comfort zone and chase something completely different. That’s a big call, and it takes courage.

Like every new member of the Pod, Mani completed the full ORCA onboarding process before stepping onto site. Medicals, VOCs, compliance, internal inductions… and he even jumped into a couple of our ORCA training days to build his skills and confidence before heading out on his first swing.

Today, Mani is working as a rigger on his very first shutdown in the Pilbara, alongside a highly experienced team of riggers and crane operators for one of our valued clients. There’s no better place to learn than shoulder to shoulder with experienced people who are willing to share their knowledge, and that’s exactly the environment he’s stepped into.

The feedback coming back has been fantastic.

The best part? We caught up with him today and he told us, “My confidence is really starting to grow.” Those are the words every employer loves to hear.

That’s what ORCA is all about.

We don’t just find people jobs—we back good people, invest in them, and give them every opportunity to succeed. Watching someone grow in confidence while learning from some of the industry’s best riggers and crane operators is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
