Our QLD team is so special and this year was no different, with such great support from so many people, in the lead up to the event, and on site during the event.
A huge shout out to everyone on the team, who contributed to the event in any way – Skiers, Drivers, Judges, Scorers, Dockies, Pick Up Boat Crews as well as our Team Captains and Team Managers.
A special thank you to our supporters - family and friends who travelled from far and wide to watch and cheer their loved ones ... we appreciate you too! ❤️
Together we are stronger than anything one person can do on their own!
Our skier bags this year were filled with sooooo many goodies, including some special contributions from Smith & Sons and Bunnings Trade. Thank you!
And finally to and for creating the QLD Charcuterie Table on Sunday afternoon - it was the envy of every non-QLD skier who walked past ... it may just have to become an annual tradition.
Here’s to a fantastic 2026/27 with more lots skiing and lots more fun!

JUNIOR SKIER OF THE YEAR - KRISTY APPLETON

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate Kristy Appleton as Waterski Australia’s Junior Skier of the Year!

A proud Queenslander, Kristy has been a force on the water—dominating local tournaments, claiming the World U17 Overall Championship in Canada, and delivering standout performances at Moomba and the Aussie-Kiwi Challenge.

But it’s not just her podium finishes that set her apart. Kristy is a highly respected trick judge, a generous coach and mentor, and someone you’ll always find helping out behind the scenes at tournaments.

After a serious illness last year, Kristy made an incredible comeback—showing us all what grit, heart, and determination really look like.

You’re an inspiration, Kristy—on and off the water!
